There was also a post from (I assume) her daughter also mentioning the funeral as it was her friend. But that seems to have disappeared now. I think the admins on the group need to rethink some of the stuff they allow to be posted on there.

Both the Mums and daughters posts still there about the funeral they’re going to.

The Mum is mad, encouraging daughter to post personal info to tens of thousands of people? Has internet safety and common sense gone completely out the window now?

It was groups like the Popsy group (and a 'inclusive vintage clothes' groups) that turned me into a TERF!

The photos the men dressing as women posted in these groups were obviously to do with a fetish (eg pin-up style underwear in the vintage group), and they'd get loads of likes and people fawning over them, and it really opened my eyes. Before that I thought trans was about your identity but seeing how these groups were a magnet for fetish-ists made me less naive!

I'm in a couple of corset groups which have both men and women posting photos of them in them, and any fetishy people are pretty obvious and get kicked out pretty fast. Though there definitely is a fetish element for all genders when it comes to vintage underwear and styles (I mean, cis women don't wear lingerie because it's practical, looking hot in something that takes half an hour to get into is for us as well as our partner) a lot of it can be just people enjoying the way they look in things.

That said, someone in one of the groups got ribs removed so she could tightlace to an even greater extreme, which was wild.

I've heard this from many teachers, that all the home made biscuits/ jam/ fudge are binned immediately, and the staff room cupboards are full of unwanted 'Best Teacher' mugs.
When I was at school we never gave presents to the teachers - however this was 30 odd years ago so I accept times change. More recently when my kids were at primary, someone in the class would do a collection with a £2-3 suggested contribution (some people gave less, some more) and buy the teacher and teaching assistants a nice bunch of flowers each - far less hassle! I think some people did still persist with the home made tat though.
I love anything hand made, like a card or a drawing. Parents don’t have to spend money on me for doing my job but I appreciate anything that they give me.

When my eldest finished reception I bought the teacher and TA tea and coffee, biscuits, pritt sticks, white board pens, post it notes and a load of hand sanitiser. That was 2019 before hand sanitizer became currency but I knew how snotty and germy kids are and that they often needed it
Oh now, I’d LOVE this. Proper pritt sticks are like gold dust l.

I’m not even sure they’re middle aged. A lot of Popsys I’ve seen have been on 30 somethings but it certainly ages them. The look does nobody any favours.
It seems like they all take great pride over their dress collection, and must be spending a lot to achieve it but I’ve noticed many seem to do nothing to their hair and wear no make up, which is fine but then why wear such striking dresses but no make up? The result is just a mishmash. And I think not wearing make up and having frizzy unkempt hair ages them?
