Adding to this, it's a known issue for autistic people, that we struggle with social convention and what constitutes genuine friendship.

Setting up a marketing channel that aims to create that community vibe is like catnip to vulnerable people, especially when we don't 'look' particularly vulnerable and usually have impulse control issues to add to the mix as well - typically this shows up as excessive spending in women.

I do think that this sort of marketing, alongside MLMs, is actively and disproportionately harmful to ND people.

I agree with this. We don't expect Next or M&S to care about their customers and how they are affording to pay for their multiple orders so why is this any different?
Next and MnS are transparent about what they are, a clothing company that are solely there to meet people’s clothing needs. They don’t arrange big get togethers to celebrate their close knit customer base and they don’t whip people up in to frenzies by launching new products weekly that they pretend will sell out within mins.

I am highly suspicious that whilst 99% of the dresses remain fully stocked, one has sold out completely and this is the one that they are pushing. I suspect it never really existed in more than a couple of sizes in the first place. All engineered to create a frenzy.

In the meantime Nik is wondering what flavour crisps Greg likes best, ironic seeing as he appears to have the contents of a chip pan on his head!

'Frocks and Friends' is worded to sound all fluffy and caring when the reality is its a business.
They arent your friend, its just a contrived effort so you think Sandras your mate and she's working her fingers to the bone sewing frocks just for you and that she knows who you are cares for you.

Unless you are me and the opposite and prefer not to “belong” as part of anything. I think I’m probably over cynical and distrusting.
I can see why it happens though. My youngest is very social and really wanted friends which was pretty hard for him until we found some with similar (special) interests.

Doesn’t look like that many dresses have sold out to me yet Popsy are implying they have

From a quick glance at the website it seems only 2 of the mew dresses have sold out today. But they will make out like it’s more of course.
Definitely not as big a frenzy to buy them as there was in 2020, which was funny as we had bugger all Christmas parties to attend that year 😂[/QUOTE]

She usually posts the actual basket showing total and shipping etc (pays £4.95 for faster shipping) but then posts what she has got. I'm almost certain there are some mental health issues at play here which is why I think she needs to be flagged by mods and some sort of intervention, even if it's just someone from customer care checking in with her.

This post shows how all in she is. She was also wearing popsy tights and had the matching hat in her bag too. It's sad.

They need to bring out Popsy Aware regulations like Gamble aware.

My issue is that it’s under the guise of being such a friendly and caring company, while in reality all they are interested in is driving sales, which of course all businesses want to do, but don’t make these people feel like they are your best friend. Cherish is a sales woman for her husbands business but they make the vulnerable ones that can’t see through it think she is there to do them a favour out of the goodness of her heart.
The sooner they start to wake up and see through it like Sandra through a dress on a Sunday live the better

Don’t give them ideas. Imagine if they opened a Popsy MLM. I mean, they had the tit leggings one that was very popular in the US. They’d all be throwing Popsy Parties and roping in their poor friends and family. People would be buying their own stock to get to Popsy Diamond level. They’d be showing off their bank statements showing they made £200 a month (all I have to do is sell dresses which I love!) while neglecting to mention they spent £500 of their own money to make those ‘profits’.

I saw rack upon rack of those MLM leggings in a French discount store of all places. The quality was absolutely appalling and the print was all wonky.

I now have major clothing envy now! I would love to learn to crochet and alpaca wool is gorgeous, I bought a blanket when I was in Peru that’s my winter treat.

That birthday post by Puddle-Dick tho, it was like a 10yr old’s celebrations! Surely when you’re a grown mother of 2, you’re just grateful to have a cup of tea made for you, not banners hung throughout the house 🙄
Have a look at the Attic 24 blog online. Lucy has loads of free tutorials and patterns, and her instructions are incredibly clear with step by step photos. Her patterns are simple but she has an outstanding eye for colour combinations. Blankets are one of the easiest ways to learn and practice before moving on to clothes and shaping. Have fun!

It’s like when those annoying charity people on the street actively target people who seem vulnerable “Excuse me, I’d like to chat to you”.. People who can’t see through it always look so intrigued, I feel sorry for them

Bella Coco is very good too. I'm a crocheter too - if you wanted to start a thread would be happy to help any beginners

Dear gods above, below and all around.

I've just ordered some alpaca for a crochet cardigan and I can assure you that none of my knitted or crocheted garments look anything like those!
Ooo I love alpaca. I've some to make a throw but not started it yet. I'm a closet crocheter but I'd never make anything as hideous as that cardi!

For the banned...Halloween is fast approaching but wasn't prepared for this jump scare!
