I'm gonna report him as well, sick to death of all these 'influencers' flouting the rules. His mrs is a great one for hiding her #ad behind her profile pic etc too 😡Link to report if anyone else feels like reporting too! https://www.asai.ie/make-a-complaint/social-media-influencer-reporting/

Case in point from Pippa's story today 😡😡 Cheeky thing.

Although I doubt she would try and hide ‘ad’ when it’s her own brand? It’s careless and not professional but I doubt it’s being sneaky in this case.

careless and unprofessional should not be 2 words associated with someone with a brand owner trying to sell on Instagram. would you buy a car or anything who was careless or unprofessional. she's just being sly.

It's definitely sneaky. Why else would she choose that exact spot for the #ad label, when she has a whole big screen to chose from? She regularly does it.

These influencers don't want viewers to realise just how much of their content is advertising material. And it's the law, so she needs to stop being careless and do it right.

I agree with every part of your response but the issue is it's "guidance"not the law. The majority of regulator bodies in Ireland, You can be named and shamed in press - which may even be unlikely unless you're reported and issue is outlined to them. But there's no implications! If they were to be fined or monetary impact for not declaring! Might be a different story!

It's definitely trying to hide the fact that it's an ad. She is not alone in doing it.

The ASAI needs to tell all of them to label stuff properly. The guidance is there. They are ignoring it, and getting away with being non compliant, left, right and centre though.

Sorry, you're right, I should have been clearer when I mentioned the law - the ASAI code is guidence, but it is to help influencers comply with consumer protection law, so they're transparent and don't mislead followers.

I agree that nothing will probably come of reporting them, but I'll keep at it anyway 😂 The ASAI say they can do a formal investigation if the influencer continues to ignore the guidelines, so hopely they will start doing that as some of these influencers really take the you-know-what. Agree that fines or monetary impact is definitely the way to go! Hit them where it hurts.

The worst are the ones who put a space between the # and the word 'ad' to try to get around the algorithm (looking at LLL), or the ones who leave off the # altogether. One influencer I look at from time to time has started putting "A|D" - like why would you bother?! Juat tag it correctly!!

But like we know it’s her own brand, so it’s an ad so why try to be sneaky about it. I have so much more respect for any of them that are clearly posting an ad.
Totally agree with this - label your ads to respect your viewers and all is good and you won't be reported by Tattlers😂

Brian's advertising Istil vodka today with no ad at all😠
