Many moons ago (over 30), I worked for a family run business - the dad (my boss) was a freemason.
His 2 sons that I worked along side told me (as in they said he's a member of a 'boys club' - they actually used to take the piss out of him and laugh about funny handshakes and aprons???
He wanted them to 'join' and they were 'feck off'
He wore a ring on his pinky finger but from memory (over 30 years ago) It was not a solid colour and I actually wouldn't like to say it was black, I'm thinking more a very dark blue but also there was some 'markings'.
He had his own office and I worked alongside his sons - sometimes men came into the office and the sons used to roll their eyes and say 'another member of the funny club that we have to give business to'.
As a naive young girl I didn't understand it to start with until I asked someone else what did they mean.
My boss creeped the hell out of me and made some very inappropriate comments and used to say things along the lines of 'how I could make extra money', after that I refused to be alone in a room with him.
He was well in his 50's and I was the age of 'legal, but unwise'.
His sons were NOTHING like him and helped getting me another job within the industry.
