If reports are true that Ruth took MM under her wing and felt really sorry for him and the way he was treated, I'm sure she and Eamonn know pretty much everything. They were treated so shoddily by ITV, including having to take part in that pantomime of him coming out.

Although they are keeping up appearance you can see especially Holly is so tense and clearly going through the motions. You can see behind her eyes this fear of another scandal, if she laughs at a caller or says the wrong thing etc. or if a guest says something that could be awkward. It’s clearly not working now as they can’t relax and banter with the guests etc with this giant queuing elephant in the room. I think Holly will quit asap. Anyone know her contract terms? And Phillip will follow but he’s never want to be first to go as she’d stay on without him for sure.

When Phil finally quits (whether he jumps or is pushed), is when more things might start to come out about him, although media will obviously still have to be careful. But if he is no longer with ITV, he won't have quite the same level of protection. His agents might want to distance themselves too because he is damaged goods.

It's like this is all a precursor to her leaving. She's making sure she gets it put out there how unhappy she is. I don't think her departure will be too far away, but no doubt she'll be biding her time and dotting her is and crossing her ts so it may be some months yet.

Agree. I doubt she will come back after the Christmas break. Will be interesting to see if they win the NTA next week. If they do then it will be their choice to go, if they don’t then I think they will be encouraged to go

ITV must be stuck between a metaphorical rock and a hard place, they either shop him and have whatever he's got over them come out (which could be bigger than we can imagine - grooming going back decades perhaps) and some awkward questions about why it was allowed to continue with their knowledge, or they say nothing and continue to protect him, give him all the good gigs, pretend they are deaf and blind and then it comes out eventually anyway. Either way their brand is hugely damaged. Perhaps they are taking their time right now to look at what the route with the least potential damage will be and how they can wriggle out of being complicit in this.
