At least Ant and Dec had the decency to tweet such sad news and the RIP Prince Philip hashtag. There's nothing on Schofield's twitter.Absolute joke that this clown was ITV’s first choice to cover Philips death. The BBC and Sky actually have proper news presenters and journalists hosting their coverage. Shows what dumbed down channel it is. Whatever next? Ant and Dec covering the funeral?
I bet he was on the phone demanding to be given the job with Julie Etchingham the second the news broke. At least Ant and Dec had the decency to tweet such sad news and the RIP Prince Philip hashtag. There's nothing on Schofield's twitter.
Such a strange choice? ITV need to invest in some new talent fast.. Not that PS is talentAbsolute joke that this clown was ITV’s first choice to cover Philips death. Well he did interview him once so he is an authority on Prince Phillip - although it was known that Prince Philip didn’t like PS

He’s still got to make it all about him has he?! So what if he was terrifying to interview - the poor man obviously didn’t want you following him around for a year Pip and he struggled to hide it. Who can blame him really!Schofield did post a picture of himself with Prince Philip on Instagram earlier not long after his death was announced with the words: “Farewell to a remarkable man, terrifying to interview but great fun to be with” but I can’t seem to find that post on his timeline anymore
Schofield is the type of person who would get into the coffin with Prince Philip, if he thought he would get some good publicity out of it.He’s still got to make it all about him has he?! Piers Morgan would have been a worse choice imo!!!I mean they still have Piers Morgan don’t they? He’s only left GMB and not ITV as a whole. He’s a proper journalist. So is Eamon Holmes, so are most of the ITV newsreaders. Absolute joke of a channel. Its times like this I think ITV miss Trevor McDonald. People liked and respected him and his presence was almost comforting in a crisis. Much like Huw Edwards is on the BBC.
Found it he posted it to stories so presumably it will disappear in an hour (says 23h on the story).Schofield did post a picture of himself with Prince Philip on Instagram earlier not long after his death was announced with the words: “Farewell to a remarkable man, terrifying to interview but great fun to be with” but I can’t seem to find that post on his timeline anymore
He is hankering after a knighthood. Lol! As if...Schofield is the type of person who would get into the coffin with Prince Philip, if he thought he would get some good publicity out of it.
i think the trouble is that over the recent years, phillip has become more and more insincere and fake. he makes rude faces when guests are speaking, laughs at them or looks disinterested, and i used to be a fan but the fake act is too obvious to ignore. so when something like this happens - a major royal death, which in the uk is going to be the biggest story of the year, then it seems obvious that phillip isn’t doing this presenting gig because he wants to pay his respect or offer good journalism, he wants to boost his exposure. he doesn’t actually care about anyone but himself and that’s becoming his downfall
