I don't know about Olivia but carmie and elouise are both close with ehuz I think that's his name who was in the wave house and elouise is also close to okulja as she used to go live with him a lot .
And your point ahah. Wow 2 black people. And they aren’t even carmies friends... they’re a friend of a friend. That’s like me saying my dogs, friends, owners, neighbours, dads, aunts, neighbour is Asian so I have an Asian friend ...

This is a bit off topic but I want to discuss this a bit.
please forgive me if this comes across as rude or ignorant as it’s not my intention but genuinely want to know and learn view points. But what is wrong with this? I wouldn’t go out of my way to single out poc to make friends with purely because of how it makes me look as a person? If one is advocating for BLM why should it matter if they have no poc friends or if they’re rich or not?

again I genuinely want to understand the answer to this! So sorry if it seems
Because a majority of their music, style and personality traits come from black culture and/or people. In my opinion yes anyone protesting and helping the cause is doing their part but what’s the point of protesting or advocating for black culture and lives and equality etc to then go back to your all white neighbourhood where if a black personality walked passed they’d probs get the dirtiest looks ygm like sometimes it feels like potentially it could be on purpose that they don’t

Imo you're going way too deep on this. Saying there personality traits come from black culture? You're making wild assumptions here

Unpopular opinion incoming…..

If there is no diversity in the groups you associate with/ friend groups I think it’s a bit backwards to say you have to go out and find friend/s who aren’t Caucasian ? Literally saying get friends with different skin tones to tick a box? However I do think it’s because their friend group is nepo babies and they aren’t exposed to many people except Caucasians & most people who live in large cities would generally have a wider variety of friends! But you can’t just tell people to make sure they tick a box - the term ‘token black’ springs to mind which is ridiculous in 2021.

i think another thing is that these influencers only seem to want to be friends with other influencers in their circle & they don’t really become friends with regular people with no following, so their friendship groups end up being the same white people (but ofc there are poc influencers so who knows)

my comment was more that the brands that Olivia and that same group work with always only work with slim white influencers within the same social circle, which is a problem with the brands themselves because there are plenty of diverse people they could choose from to invite to their events and send clothes to which is probably a reason why that group are the main group thriving on youtube because brands aren't inviting other diverse creators to their events so those creators don't mix with olivia/flossie/anastasia kingsnorth/olivia and evie etc (and there are plenty of non white YouTubers/instagrammers with a decent following)

Never said you have to go out and actively seek a token black person im making an observation that NONE of them seem to have interacted w someone of colour or who isn’t a blonde white skinny girl. Youre telling me that’s not a little odd. Anyways each to their own. Agree to disagree x

Olivia Grace Spotify is 90% afrobeats and afropop. I’d appreciate if no one told me I’m thinking too deep because this is w problem w a lot of people. If I feel a certain way about an issue whether u agree or disagree respect it. Sorry if a massive group of UK influencers don’t exactly represent the UK n it’s not just their fault it’s brands as well. That’s what I’m tryna say you’re telling me the Uk doesn’t have any black or poc influencers w the same following but brands are constructing this weird representation of the UK n Olivia, flossie etc are firming it

I feel like you’ve got to be quite ... in a bubble to not have some ethnic friends whether they’re Asian, black etc. I find whenever they have black friends in videos sometimes social climbers .. mainly like Carmie n that they’re usually making fun of them but also Spencer oddly spencer seems to be the only one I’ve personally seen w a mix group of people.
everyknes entitled to agree or disagree w me just dropping my opinion on the fact I’m tired of seeing white skinny blonde ( or fake blonde ) girls sell me clothes for a brand that posts one black person every few months

I do think it’s weird to live in multicultural London and not have any POC friends. It’s not about saying you have to go and make friends with a POC, it’s just odd that in multicultural London you haven’t met a single POC you’ve got on with. Less odd in less multicultural places but very odd in London.

her whole friendship circle (and most other influencers like flossie lovEvie etc) is like 99% white thin (a lot of the time blonde) girls. 99% of the U.K. female population are not white thin blondes(and DEFINITELY not that much of the London pop) So it’s like they single out this kind of person to be friends with, like you said about singling out e.g. a person of colour, but It’s arguably way weirder and gives me eugenics vibes

But also to make friends that look exactly like you, the same dress size as you. Same hair colour, same tone of voice. Same style etc like surely that’s borderline narcissistic behaviour. Like why could u all low-key be siblings in big ass London

Also, you shouldn’t ‘have’ to seek out a POC. As stated above, London is so multi diverse that POC are not a minority. idk it’s odd to me as well and i definitely see your point.
Especially in the places they live and visit. I’m from west London but places like portebello, Notting hill imo there’s loads of black or ethnic people. We literally grew up in those places before they gentrified it all ygm or like when they go Brixton or even social climbers live in Ealing you’re telling me Ealing ain’t got no black people or Indians 😩😭

And I know she’s from Ireland and I may be wrong but I’ve only seen a small % of black people in Ireland and I know there’s probs some places where there’s no ethnic people but I’ve never seen Olivia w anyone of colour ever ... besides yazmin so it makes me think would she know how to interact w someone of a different culture and possibly upbringing n personality to her. All the ethnic people they hang out w still are exactly like them but I can’t imagine if someone was like a size 10/12 feeling comfortable in a group of just small slim size 6 possibly white girls so maybe it’s for the best cause I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable around them cause u can jsut tell they make remarks like ‘ oh I’m so fat’ etc without thinking

Maybe I took it up wrong, and yes I fully agree that living in a city like London there is usually massive exposure to so many different races and cultures that any normal person would have a varied friendship group. This particular group though are vacuous, superficial and their relationships seem completely surface level.

Am Irish, there's a lot of POC here. A lot.
In fact my mother is African and my father is Irish.
And I'm from a tiny village in the west of Ireland, not a bigger city like Belfast. So yeah, I find it very strange that she doesn't have any friends of colour.

Wait really. Never knew that, kinda interesting I’ve just never seen a lot and whenever I do se them in school they only showed up the tit side of them being in Ireland x

If anyone feels I’ve derailed. Sorry but this is an interesting topic that I feel a lot of people skip over or don’t notice and I’ve noticed it a lot in the past year or so and wondered if anyone else had. But carry on 😂😂

I don't think the point is that she should go out of her way to make friends from different backgrounds it's just that she definitely doesn't need to go out of her way in Ldn and still doesn't seem to form close relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. There's also plenty of ethnically diverse influencers so idk why only having influencer friends would affect this; yes it's a lower proportion due to systemic issues but again, she lives in Ldn.

Surprisingly the only guy I’ve acc seen w a diverse group of friends is lewys and they’re from uni some of them but he mixes w quite a few people. N to those who don’t think it’s a slight issue 👀👀. To only have friends that are a carbon copy of you kinda makes u think wat sorta convos do they have between them and are they naive to certain situations
