Yes I agree. I also always think it’s funny that so many people who talk a lot about human rights, Black Lives Matter, etc. (all very important causes) often seem to spend their money on drugs, ignoring the horrendous human right abuses and exploitation in the drug trade. Sure the guys at the top are usually just bad people, but there are a lot of not so bad people caught up in the drugs trade, that have no alternative, especially in Colombia and South America. So many of them are trapped and cannot get out of the drugs trade, and of them are murdered. Plenty of innocent bystanders are murdered by those involved too. Their money directly funds this stuff, yet none of them seem to remember this, as long as they get their gear for the weekend.

We know Olivia cares about this stuff, she’s vegan, she posted a lot about BLM, I’m sure she’s posted about other human rights injustices. So why does she, and so many other young people spend their cash on drugs that cause destruction in this country and especially on the other side of the world.

Here’s an article that talks about the ethics of buying cocaine.
I’m sorry, I’m really not trying to be rude. This is the most insane way to say you’re anti-drugs. Just about EVERYTHING is unethical in some way or another and I strongly doubt anybody actually stops to think about all this before buying a bag. It’s just a ridiculous viewpoint really lmao

I wish she’d realise that we don’t need to see specific videos & super creative content. Like not having a new idea is no excuse for not posting like idk about yous but I just want to see vlogs! I follow her cos she makes me lol so literally a video of her sitting in bed chatting shite is better than nothing
In her videos recently she hasn’t quoted many vine references etc which is sad as i miss that humour

yeah I genuinely think one of the reasons we all seem to miss her old videos so much is that there was more humour we can relate to whereas now it’s a lot of private jokes and their own sayings like “to the revolution” and the whole “av shat meself” like it might be funny to her and her friends but it’s the equivalent of sitting at school lunch with the group of friends who went out without u at the weekend 😐

Not OP, but I think it’s insane to believe that pointing out that the drugs trade is unethical is a “ridiculous viewpoint” and a cover for being “anti drugs”. As if the person that needs defending is a rich white teenager for doing coke and not the people that have nothing that are being groomed, trafficked, and/or killed so she can buy a baggie... Where drugs cross the Maghreb illegally, drug traffickers are sometimes forced to collaborate with literal terrorist organisations that have control of the area. Can you imagine going to work and your coworker is someone that passively or actively contributes to murder and sex slavery, or is someone that has killed someone from your home town?

I take drugs and pre-COVID went to raves and I will go back once this is all over. But I stopped buying coke because the trade is so awful - yes, there’s no ethical consumption under late capitalism, but the cocaine trade is on a completely different scale, partly because it can’t be created in a lab, like MDMA (whose customer base is different to other lab-synthesised drugs like meth, because it doesn’t function so much on addiction or highly regular use), partly because it’s highly illegal, unlike weed.

So you’re pro-drug legalisation, great, so am I, but you are doing more harm than good to your own cause by discouraging people from paying attention to the ethics of the trade and harm reduction. If we want drugs to be legalised, more people have to campaign for harm reduction and against the exploitation involved in certain parts of the trade. I thought young drug users would be motivated toward this, but more work obviously needs to be done to raise awareness going by the clear lack of care and education about drug use in Olivia’s audience

I know that I’m being quite sharp with you, but it’s because I don’t understand how you can be more arsed about some teenager embarrassing themselves by wearing a weed jumper and not being as seasoned a drug user as you apparently are, than you are about human rights? And how you can genuinely think it’s OK to frame that viewpoint as “ridiculous”? The violence of the drug trade, people being forced to work alongside corrupt drug cartels and terrorist organisations, kids being roped into county lines, a new generation of drug users dying from preventable misuse - this stuff is objectively worse than Flossie making a twit of herself on live

Sorry for the double post edit, but this just shows the huge level of privilege and wilful ignorance amongst some drug users in the west. What’s funny about people trafficking and murder
@northernspaces ? Y’all are so sensitive about people being “judgmental” of you over buying a bag I s2g, as if you’re hard done by for being told to do your research 😭

Completely. I am in no way anti-drugs and have dabbled in the past, but I would never buy/take coke after visiting Colombia and speaking to local people there about the devastating impact the worldwide cocaine trade has on the country and its people. Our demand for cocaine enables the cartels to exist and they are responsible for all sorts of atrocities.

Has anyone tried the ex1 foundation ?? A girl @ zarapaolozzi came up on my fyp rating things Olivia influenced & it looked amazing on her has anyone got it
Ive got it! I really like it except its a bit dark but that's my own fault! I have pretty normal skin with dry patches sometimes and it doesn't cling to them, it's really nice

This is a great perspective!

How much do you think she’s making from YouTube/ Instagram etc
I was rewatching some of her videos last night and in one of them she was saying she was donating the earnings from one of her videos to BLM, she then said she had raised £1500. So if that’s just from one video and then add to that other video revenue and anything she earns from ads and sponsors. I also don’t know how tiktok works but I dare says she’s making money off that too. witch be making bank!!

but you have to remember people watched the adds all the way through so she could make as much money as possible to donate to blm and they probably wouldn’t watch the adds all the way through normally

Yeah that’s fair enough. Still, I don’t think she’s struggling 😂
