She could just be messing with us. But that would require a sense of humour

They are probably thriving having a good laugh...

I wanted to visit Bali for years after reading Eat, Pray, Love (what can I say, I’m a basic witch!) as it sounded so lovely and idyllic. That was written in the early 2000s and it sounds like it’s changed so much and is an absolute shithole now. It’s high on my list of “places I’d never visit”, along with Dubai, which is also famous for its influencer wankers.

With Australians it has a reputation as a bogan travel destination. Bintang singlets and mullets riding scooters. 😂

Bali/indonesia is beautiful. The people are great.

Areas have for sure suffered from over tourism. The likes of Kuta match your description.

I can’t lie, I’m very jealous of Niomi being in Bali. If there was anywhere I could up sticks and move to, it would be Indonesia.

but then I’m interested in the archaeology and geology of the area, and the wildlife. Niomi likes the smoothie bowls and faux spiritualism.

Dangerous loons.
I'm sure Donkey is heavily into this 'I'm blessed and have insight and am therefore better than you' twaddle. He can blame all his shortcomings on the universe having a bigger plan for him.
Niomi I'm not so sure. She says all the words but we know she'd drop it all for a country house, two children and two dogs and lots of brands deals involving trips to London. With a handsome Joey type husband. Who looks like he washes and smells pleasant.

Basically Fleur de Force's life

I’ve been there for a wedding and it was very beautiful out of the built-up areas. It’s just very unfortunately suffered from being an economical tourist destination and the government has prioritised tourist dollars over its own people.
