She needs to forget Thailand until she’s 100% recovered. I really hope she realises now how things can change quickly.
I think she needs to just forget about Thailand completely. Her health over the past 6 months or so seems really unstable and she seems to be getting worse each time. She hasnt seemed “well” in about a year. Fair enough do short holidays in nearby countries where there’s an equivalent standard of health care as the UK but i think her days of going long haul and to countries with either sub standard or expensive healthcare facilities is over. She needs to forget Thailand until she’s 100% recovered. I really hope she realises now how things can change quickly.
What is the reason that she’s previously been treated by the teenage cancer unit as an adult?
So when shes 40/45/50 years old they will still treat her there?! Nah. It’s nothing to do with continuity of care. It’s a unit offering care to those age 16-30. If she was diagnosed at 30 they’d treat her there. I presume it’s continuity of care. I find NNL completely baffling but I don’t find that strange at all as it’s probably a hospital policy, it’s not a children’s ward.
If that were the case and it was about continuity of care, surely there would be other patients aged 30+ who were diagnosed younger, yet were still being cared for on the teen/young adult ward, yet Nicky seems to be the only one. and anyway, the unit specifies that it treats teens/young adults aged 16 to 24 - why was Nicky treated there in the first place if she was diagnosed at the age of 30?It’s a unit offering care to those age 16-30. So would I and I’d be asking serious questions as to why she was allowed on there with an infection. If it is then it shouldn’t be. As a mum to a young teen I would be appalled if he was treated in the same ward as a 35 year old who dicks around, with no concept of personal space or safeguarding.
I would never in my life consider someone whose 30 a young adult! It's not exclusively teenage. I think it's called teenage and young adult' and treats those upto 30. Her still being there maybe due to continuity in care.
Is there anything wrong with her gallbladder that she alluded to / filmed herself going for a scan ?
The glistening tear left on her cheek for her stories
She must put so much pressure on her "team". I imagine she's petulant and demandingAll she said is that it’s poorly.
I can’t imagine Thailand will be on the table again. Surely the speed with which that infection kicked in shows that there is no way she should be going so far away. It was insane that she was considering it anyway, and that her oncologist said she was fit to fly.
A young adult is surely someone who is 18 to say 24? Baffling!I would never in my life consider someone whose 30 a young adult!
But tappity tap doesn’tI think most people over the age of 25 would rather be sat with other adults than teenagers.
I've said before nicky isn't the only one who is an adult and treated on that ward. Mickiriddell is another woman on instagram who also attends the same ward and us also an adult. I'm sure I've seen pictures of a few adults having treatment on the same unit as they've appeared in her reels. I also personally know another person who is stage 4 and 29 who has treatment on a young person's ward, she had no choice it's just where she was allocated. Maybe they have the older people in for treatments on different days to the younger one's? I don't agree with anything nicky does when she's having treatment and prancing around like a twit and getting the nurses and other people involved, or putting others at risk but going onto a childrens ward with an infection, it's a piss take. BUT where she is allocated to have treatment is not down to her, its the hospital. If that were the case and it was about continuity of care, surely there would be other patients aged 30+ who were diagnosed younger, yet were still being cared for on the teen/young adult ward, yet Nicky seems to be the only one. and anyway, the unit specifies that it treats teens/young adults aged 16 to 24 - why was Nicky treated there in the first place if she was diagnosed at the age of 30?
What do you think it is ? It’s beyond me why they allow it to continue. So when shes 40/45/50 years old they will still treat her there?! Nah. It’s nothing to do with continuity of care.
I honestly genuinely dont know. Id lean towards her having mental health issues but then plenty other adults with MH problems who have cancer have to just get on with it on an adult ward…..What do you think it is ? It’s beyond me why they allow it to continue.
