Sorry but you are wrong

stage 4 breast cancer is medically considered to be an incurable terminal life limiting illness. There is no cure at all for stage 4 breast cancer. It will kill you, and usually does so within 10 years and usually a lot sooner. Stage 4 bowel cancer is not the same, its not medically considered to be incurable at diagnosis like stage4 breast cancer is. You can be cured of a stage 4 bowel cancer diagnosis.

No I'm not wrong. Only the minority of patients with stage IV bowel cancer are potentially curable at diagnosis. Most patients do not have the option of surgery for their metastatic tumours and end up having palliative chemo only.

Patients with bowel cancer who are diagnosed with bone metastases are definitely not curable.

I don't know where you're getting your information from but this is from CRUK website

breast cancer survival info
Stage 4
More than 25 out of 100 women (more than 25%) will survive their cancer for 5 years or more after they are diagnosed. The cancer is not curable at this point, but may be controlled with treatment for some years.

and for bowel cancer

Stage 4
10 out of 100 people (10%) with stage 4 bowel cancer (also called Dukes' D) will survive their cancer for 5 years or more after they're diagnosed.

If the cancer has spread into the liver and the surgeon can remove it, more than 40 out of 100 people (more than 40%) will survive their cancer for 5 years or more after their operation.

my brother had stage 4 colorectal cancer- I wish he'd been curative ...he only lived for 3 years after his stage 4 metastatic disease
Sorry to hear about your brother Cariad

this is literally exactly what ive just explained up thread. The two cancers at Stage 4 are not the same. 1 is automatic straight to incurable the other isnt. Youve posted the links there that confirm what ive already said.

Only the MINORITY of patients with stage4 bowel canfer are potentially curable as opposed to ZERO of those diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

Please all stop arguing over statistics and remember this thread is about a cancer influencer with stage IV secondary breast cancer. Talk about her all you like. This doesn’t add anything to discussion. These are people you are talking about with real diagnoses….like myself. It doesn’t help to argue whether we will live or die at time of diagnoses. My father and then my husband also both died from bowel cancer five years apart. It is my nephews one year anniversary tomorrow who died from oesophageal cancer at aged 25 last year leaving a very young baby and beautiful wife.
I won’t post on here again. It’s too upsetting but wish those well who are suffering from this cruel disease as well and to those who aren’t I think a bit of compassion sometimes wouldn’t go amiss.

Pretty sure that Betty is just saying the two examples can’t really be compared as stage4 bowel and stage4 breast have two (potentially) different prognosis’?

moving back to NNL… am I right in thinking that if her bloods do not improve and she doesn’t have the mutation needed for another treatment then that’s it in terms of active treatments and she’ll receive palliative care as a next step?

Yes I think she’s pretty much exhausted all her treatment options now outside of chemo. If her bloods don’t improve to be honest she’s really not in a very good position at all, as shes very vulnerable to any infection and unfortunately that is what usually ends people in her position. She’s insane for even considering a holiday at this point.

I agree - a crowded airport, never mind the plane and then all the mixing with tourists. Immune-system nightmare. I won't fly anywhere and I'm not in the horrible position she's in.

Exactly. The simple act of going on holiday! It could even be a bloody private jet to the place. Just general activity and strain on such a weak body at the current stage is ridiculous. Add in all you've said and wallop it's absurd.
And that's not us jot letting a woman live her resulting moments how she wishes, her striving for the best! It's knowing how far a body should be pushed.and making any bloody time she does have actually bleeping miserable if she can't function.

And I'm afraid it once again goes to the type of person "influencertype" she is thatnshe grabby for all these superficial things.

I'm still waiting for that card from Asda and its collab to land. Perhaps when we all posted it she had to stop as we'd outed her. But God it will be unbearable.

Aha ha fucknoff. You mean noone sent you a free holiday. Probably all tit scared, why the duck wpupd they have their name behind sending a sick woman and that danger on their hands? But goodnight bet someone has gifted her one somewhere.
Or she's actively been told by Alex or other that she is jot going abroad. No way Nicky dear you wouldn't be going abroad unless someone stopnyou.
Or even frigging worse she's spent through all that money!

She's clearly reading on here with her pointed comments about last minute holidays being so 'expensive' and how there are plenty of lovely places in the UK.
mentioning that holidays are "expensive" and the reference to £££s is so manipulative. it's all so obviously intentional, to guilt people into donating ot her GFM, believing that the reason she didn't manage to book a last-minute holiday abroad was solely because poor Nicky couldn't afford it - when in reality, the reason she was unable to go abroad will be related to her health/inability to get insurance etc, and nothing whatsoever to do with her not being able to afford it - but Nicky isn't going to miss any opportunity to try and blag herself freebies and donations, especially hinting that she is considering a UK holiday, knowing her 🐑 will leap at the opportunity to show their support by donating to help fund yet another beach jaunt, which won't do her health any favours. the blatant lies are appalling. just as honest and announce that your precarious health is preventing you from going abroad - playing the "so expensive, can't afford, boo hoo" card to manipulate the situation to her own advantage is truly shameful. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😡

Ugh duck off. Fruit bowls. Digestives can be perfectly part of a healthy diet. Infant at certain times of the day for certain needs of energy actually more healthy than a fruit bowl.who knew! It's little micro comments like that around food that carry so much weight(ha pun not intended) when you have a platform, you ha e to be so careful. Because she's literally just made that mum having a sit down and digestives feel like tit. Or the nurse on her break not choose the biscuits.or feel guilt. We are in a fucked yo world in regards to food beliefs and she should no that more than most.
Oooh everyone also LOOK AT MY PORT SCAR PLEASE.IM SO bleeping POORLY.PLEASE HEAD TO MY HIGHLIGHTS TO SEE HOW IM DYING DON'T YOU NO.
