Who else finds it a bit sick that companies like women’s best purposefully pick terminal cancer patients to be ambassadors? Like they are riding the coattails of someone’s illness for sales?

I refuse to believe Nick has any capacity for self reflection. She’s just too selfish.
Agreed. The silence will be so people worry, she garners sympathy and BOOM ….. a timely injection into the GFM!! Tada!!!! Grifting cow.

I ask this question in full ignorance of bone mets, but are hip replacements not an option for Nicky?
It could be possible, I've looked after a young woman with metastatic bowel cancer which had spread to her hip and she was given a hip replacement
not sure if its even been considered with Nic...could depend where in her hip/ pelvis the bone mets are and whether the surgeon considers it too risky and what waiting lists are like!

No. Shes a stage 4 terminal breast cancer patient with extensive bone mets & unstable disease. They wouldn’t even entertain a hip replacement for many reasons - the risk of infection alone would render it a no.
Not so...the patient I'd looked after ( 20 years ago) was stage 4 colorectal cancer with extensive bone mets in hip, pelvis ( and liver) ....she was deemed suitable- she was only 23 at time of hip replacement

Surgery
Your doctor might suggest you see the surgeon. This is to see if they can help strengthen weakened bones. This is not a very common treatment. It includes having metal pins put in, or a joint replaced (such as a hip joint).

Surgery can also help fix a fracture in a weakened bone.

You may have rods put in to stabilise and strengthen your spine if you have cancer there.

Stage 4 BREAST cancer is terminal. Incurable.

stage 4 Bowel/colorectal cancer is not. Thats why theres a difference

If I am ever in the unfortunate position to be diagnosed with cancer, I know I want to have the privilege and opportunity to be able to brainstorm and tap into the wealth of knowledge and expertise found amongst the bright minds of Tattle users! Wow! I so enjoy the back and forth discussions that occur when opinions are not being suppressed, There can be such value in the free exchange of thoughts. I am learning a great deal! ❤️

There's loads of woman in the stage 4 BC groups that have had hip replacements due to mets. Just because your terminal/stage 4 does not mean you are not entitled to have the same quality of life as someone who is not. We can live for years (even with unstable disease) I don't know the case with NNl as to why she has not got that option, perhaps due to unstable disease.

So refreshing to see Deborah James' family out and about raising money for cancer charities, as they continue to do in her honour. I find this in marked contrast to what the likes of Nicky are doing, ie, not much.
That’s a really good point, and considering her dad (PapaBear?) also had cancer you’d think the entire family would be out there advocating and fund raising, but especially GreedyNick with her large 🐑 following

Where were her mets, what treatment was she on, was she stable etc.
Trina Cleary had chemo, radiotherapy and a mastectomy and at first was given the all clear but had a persistent pain in her thigh and then neck. Her scan showed extensive mets in her hip, femur, spine and neck. She had a partial hip replacement a couple of years ago as the cancer had destroyed her hip bone and she was non weight bearing due to pain and bone turned to cancerous tissue. She did put up a very brave fight but it got her in the end and she passed yesterday. She had a recent diagnoses of spread to the brain for which she had radio. She also had a tattoo following (11.11) I noticed a long time ago Nicky was following her.

Update this afternoon.
No chemo this week again, having another blood transfusion as her levels are all still way too low for anything else. Regular blood transfusions from this week going forwards. If her bloods don’t improve then they are more or less out of options she says, aside from 1 other chemo that could only be ysed if she has some genetic mutation and obviously if her bloods recover enough to try a different chemo after this one. It’s not sounding particularly positive…..

They can’t seriously still be thinking about going off on holiday when shes clearly really not very well. Mixing with hundreds of people in airports/planes/hotels etc. it seems like total madness.

But there she is with a ad at the end for a 70% off womens best.

To be fair, the audio is right but right now, I don’t want to grow or do the work

I just want to feel tired, let down & damn right scared about it

My bloods are still too low for chemo (even after 3 weeks since my last one)

More blood needed today but we can’t keep doing this every 3 weeks

If my bloods don’t recover, I can’t have chemo, it’s that simple, it would become too dangerous to give to me (ironic isn’t it!)

Right now, I’m feeling all the feelings, I really could be looking at the start line of the end but I’ve got way too much to do to see!

I’m trying to hold on to that ‘rebellious hope’ that debs would have told me to

There’s one more drug, but I need to have a certain mutation to have it, my life is practically a coin toss at the moment

Good bloods & chemo/bad bloods & stop chemo
Yes to mutation & try new drug/no mutation & no more drugs to try

I’m very much in limbo land, all I want to do is run away with everyone I love & escape it all.

So I may be a bit quiet whilst I process this, you lot & this glorious page of ours keeps me going so I’ll be back just in dribs & drabs, love & appreciate you all, always x

Comfies are @womensbest summer sale up to 70% off on now, link & code in bio x
