So you have a terminal illness have you? Unless you have, don't judge. If you didn't like her insta platfform or how she behaved then why did you follow her.

---
And what is wrong with that exactly. You ever been diagnosed with a terminal illness have you.

If you bothered reading the thread you'd see there is plenty here who are terminal.
Get off your pedestal

If you don't like what you read 👋. You're on tattle and asking if people have a terminal illness. If you feel that strongly about this thread... move on to another.
Basically askied as no-one has a right to judge if they haven't walked in the same shoes. You get me.

Nicky highlighted her illness and it was a focus on her instagram, as such people have an opinion. To directly ask someone if they have a terminal illness is very insensitive. I understand its a sensitive subject and alot of people admired Nicky, but others didn't. Just because someone hasn't walked in the same shoes, doesn't mean they haven't walked in as equally difficult.

I don't feel Nicky was an advocate for breast cancer and that she did it for her own gain (each to their own) but I accept others feel differently. One thing I've learnt from tattle is that alot of people have things going on and certain influencers trigger emotions.

I admired her but I understand now what other people see and saw. I have no interest in silencing them, it doesn't change how I feel overall. She helped me but I can understand how she hurt others.

Nn was a privileged insta twit.
What was worse is that she found her insta "hook" in an illness and used it to manipulate others.
She also wasn't the presentation she acted put on her gram hence the weird speeches st her funeral telling of a very different kind if woman. Which is incidentally what tattle saw too.

Her platform was fake, full of fake post.we literally saw the methods and hours that went into just the single shots!
She actively lied about her symtoms and illness.
And those on social media, doing that kind of marketing, brand ,greed and grab manipulation or awful.
And like others who use people in the same way,she did provide awareness for the real shitfest side of sm and influencers.

Oh and ps. Many many on here have suffered loss, pain, chronic debilitating mental or physical health and feelings. And this page has been incredibly supportive to those In need and offered many a helping hand or ear or distraction.
And even more so helped than not to feel inadequate or lesser than if they jave been effected by these social media idiots who profit on bringing others down to seel their fix, brand, pages.

Lmao, as if anyone goes through life not having opinions on things they have no direct experience of, that would limit everyone's opinions to next to nothing. Plus, the majority of people here do have experience of cancer, be it directly, or loved ones (not that it needs justifying). I see more people hurt by Nic's portrayal of 'go grab life' than who actually benefited from it.

It makes me really angry tbh. I think it was one of my biggest bugbears with her. I understand the sentiment, but is the most icky form of able-ism. I know everyone has different experiences and I'm glad she was able to, but everyone I have known in her position did not have the luxury of choice, like we've said many times, whether it be lack of finances, children to look after, jobs to go to alongside their treatment etc etc. For most people, all the requirements on them don't stop because of their illness, life just gets a million times harder. Nic had nothing required of her at all, was already well off and then received donations from well meaning strangers. What an utter place of entitlement. Not to mention most people by this point are in awful physical states because of the extent of the illness (and the fact the majority get minimal treatment options because of postcode lottery, lack of resources etc).

I look at loved ones I've seen suffer this evil disease, bed bound in unbelievable pain, soiling themselves, unable to wash without assistance, incoherent and literally wasting away - all while fighting the system to receive the most basic of benefits. And I think to anyone who has the audacity to say go grab life, stick it up your bleeping arse.

I'm finding the re-posts by charities etc of the 'go grab life' slogan really offensive. Things like this are upsetting me.

I messaged Shine and a couple others saying that I understand they mean well, but it's actually quite harmful for the average person with cancer (like myself). They messaged back just saying that they are always there if I'm struggling. Didn't acknowledge what I'd actually said at all.

Unfortunately i think in situations like this, you have to go public with your grievances. they will bat away emails but if they are publicly taken to task by the very people they claim to be representing then they are put in a position where they cant ignore it.

That is true. Not sure how I'd go about this though!? I'm not active with many followers on social media.

That's a really insensitive and irresponsible post from people who should frankly know better. I'm so sorry they have failed you and didn't redeem themselves when you reached out :'( We shouldn't still be having issues like this in 2023 and especially not coming from organisations literally designed to support patients, they should know more than anyone how 'getting out there' is not a choice for many people.

This is obviously very triggering for you. Perhaps not a good thread for you to be on.

We thought Nikki was a greedy grafter. All the emotional accusations from you in the world won’t change our minds.
