I am honestly baffled by some of their levels of comprehension.
Post from a lady who has just passed her driving test but asking if she can still keep her L plates on as she’s finding people are quite aggressive on the roads. Clearly says ‘I have the green P plates but they don’t seem to be making a difference’
Very first reply ‘there are green P plates you can get for when you first pass’

They’re so dim, they have no comprehension skills at all and no empathy for anyone who isn’t themselves. Not even their own kids/mum/husband/sister/best friend etc.

I saw one about ivf which basically all started with ‘I have 2/3/4 children and didn’t need IVF but if I hadn’t been able to have them, I wouldn’t have had IVF as I don’t agree with it and I don’t think it should be available as it’s going against nature’. Ok.
It's like the threads where a poster says she's sad she never had children and now she's menopausal she has to accept she never will. Cue lots of posters saying stupid stuff like 'you're so lucky not having kids, DS1 and DD3 never sleep, the washing pile never diminishes, me and DH would give our right arm for a bit of childfree time' and 'If I had my time over again I wouldn't have had children, you're so lucky you've been able to focus on your career' along with other equally insensitive stuff. Twats. 😡😡😡

😆😆😆😆 these posters........
anyway, those plates are a waste of time , if you've passed, you've passed.

There's a thread from a woman who has had her lightbulb moment about her useless sack of tit DH. Don't think there's even 10 comments before the "it sounds like he has ADHD" Police arrive.Couldn't possibly be that he's just useless and she's enabled it for donkeys years.

My husband would very happily leave everything to me but I'll be 6 foot under in a wooden box before he gets the chance to! Do people not communicate with their spouses in MN world... I regularly tell him to sort his own tit out before it goes in the wheelie bin :ROFLMAO:

I had that exact same conversation with Mr S this morning. Handily, a charity bag has been posted through our door, so I've told him that anything left in the sitting room that doesn't belong there is going to Scope. He thinks I'm joking. I'm not.

This is one of my least favourite things about mumsnet, and it happens on almost every post.
‘What’s your favourite snack?’
‘I don’t snack 😊

Then DONT POST ON A THREAD ASKING ABOUT SNACKS, you dipshits! Your input is not necessary on this topic, no one cares how daintily you eat and how you’ve never been hungry in your life because you’re not a fat poor. Get out!

It's the same vibe as "What's your favourite TV programme?"
"Oh we don't have a television"
Congratulations, I guess at least you're doing your colleagues a favour by not having to make conversations with you about last night's TV

(I say this as someone who rarely watches TV, and therefore, this is important, does not join in threads about TV.)

They do it on threads about celebrities as well ‘Holly willoughby is back on dancing on ice’ ‘who is holly wiloughby?’ ‘What is dancing on ice?’ Why click on the thread dingbat!

The anti-IVF stance on there is bizarre. I had 7 failed attempts, by the way.

Look at the outcry when they completely misunderstood the Supreme Court overturning if Roe v. Wade here, and assumed that abortion is “illegal in America”. Some of them even claimed to be cancelling trips here because they couldn’t bear the thought of spending their hard-earned 6-figure salary in a country that had “robbed women of their reproductive choices”. There was even a thread where a woman said her husband’s job was being relocated to the US and she didn’t know what to think about it. She had a daughter aged 6 and the general MN consensus was not to go because her daughter might one day need an abortion (despite the fact that the job would be in a state where abortion is available with no questions asked). So what’s IVF if it’s not a reproductive choice? And they completely overlooked the fact that most states here have a more relaxed abortion law/deadline than their beloved France. But let’s not facts get in the way of their love for a Breton top and a few cahiers.

We should go against nature sometimes. Have they seen what the witch is capable of?

They’re just so closed-minded. If you don’t want to ‘go against nature’ then don’t, you can’t control what other people legally do though. They’re very controlling regarding everyone else except themselves though things like how can they make X person do Y, how can they tell X person they’re so angry about something that doesn’t affect them, how can they tell X person they need to change their wedding plans. And always threads about how things should be banned dogs, IVF, babychinos, other peoples hobby’s.

I was always quite opinionated about IVF not being natural etc until my second baby was stillborn. Afterwards I felt this inexplicable urge to have another even though at that stage we didn't know if it would be possible to, and I would frankly have done anything to make that happen because until you've known utter desperation you can't say what you'd do. As for adoption, after seeing a family friend go through utter hell with two children she adopted that had been removed due to neglect and parental drug abuse, it would honestly be my worst nightmare. How dare people bandy it around as a cure all for infertility.

Is this just someone who wants to talk about teen boys wanking?🤔

They probably also tell people in wheelchairs that they're soooo lucky they don't have to walk up stairs and tire their legs out...

Is this like the soup down the jumper theory?

Poor/working class - cheap clothes
Nouveau rich - designer clothes
Actually wealthy - old clothes with soup all over them

Poor/working class - can't actually write
Nouveau rich - use technology
Actually wealthy - pen and paper (ideally a very old pen in the family for years, scrawled onto the back of a scrap of basildon bond you found lying around)

Awesome I never knew I was actually wealthy due to my soup stained old hoodie and trackies. Where’s all my money then?

I dunno. I have an IVF baby but surrogacy and anonymous gamete/oocyte donation don’t sit well with me. I’m okay with known donors.

MN however froth at the mouth whenever the poor infertiles are brought up. Basically we should be willing to chat endlessly about their children, never be upset about our childlessness, and IVF is unnatural and will set your child up for a lifetime of “unknown” health problems. There’s a couple of posters who are absolute psychos about it, I think BlossomToes is one.
