Random question - what time do you guys wake up/go to sleep? I usually work 2 mornings and have to wake up at 6:30AM which is now being increased to 3-4 mornings and I don’t know how I’m going to stay awake 🥲 What can I do to help myself? My boyfriend’s convinced I have low iron because I’m mostly vegan/plant based but I think my diets good? Help 🥲
I usually wake up every day 6am (well my alarm goes off at 6am and I get out of bed about 6:15/6:20) but I work 7:30 - 19:15/21:00 ten days stretch then have 3 days off and then back on the ten days! I also work in a prison so have a week of night shifts every 10 weeks! I find sleeping so hard but usually asleep by 10;30/11pm at night cause I’m so tired 😂😂 I use lavender pillow spray and room diffuser to help though if I struggle falling asleep and in the mornings blast myself with a cold shower to help wake up!
It’s hard getting into a routine but good luck my lovely 🥰
 
I wake up at 06:30 too, well I set my alarm for 06:30 but snooze it or lay in bed until about 06:45. I’m not a morning person at all so I need a few extra minutes to process that it’s morning again😂. I aim to be asleep for around 22:30/23:30 but it doesn’t always happen. Sometimes I’m out like a light at 21:00 and sometimes I’m still scrolling on here at 01:00! What helps me is having a coffee to take to work. I sip on it throughout the morning instead of drinking it quickly for a ‘hit’. If you’re not into coffee you can always try water with a berocca? Or a tea? Having a good sized travel mug is key for hot drinks!

I have thyroid issues and can sometimes feel very lethargic and exhausted even if I’ve had a full 8 hours. I just try and fight through it and make sure I’m staying hydrated and eating enough. You’d be surprised at how much energy a small snack can give you!
Thank you lovely! I do find that having a cup of tea as soon as I get to work wakes me up! And then I end up having 4/5 which is really bad 😅 I’ve just ordered one of those huge water bottles to force me to drink water! I’m so sorry to hear that, I’ve heard that’s really common 🥺💕 I definitely need to eat more too!

Wow! I could never do that, that’s really impressive! How do you feel after the ten days? Is three days enough time to recover? 😅 I was gonna say I bet you sleep like a log 😅 So proud of you mom, sounds like you work super hard! How are you doing? 💕

I’m not sleeping the best atm (third trimester probs) but before I would usually go to sleep around 11pm and my alarm goes off at 6! I honestly think your body just gets used to it, I really struggle getting out of bed but even on a weekend my body naturally wakes me up at 6 now (though I do go back to sleep of course 🤪)

Definitely try and relax before bed (I’m the worst for being on my phone in bed but I enjoy tattling for a bit then I usually watch ASMR to help me relax and drift off). I like to decide what I’m going to wear to work the night before so I can have an extra 5 mins in bed (that’s if you don’t need a uniform or anything).
 
Oh no I’m sorry 🥺 How long are your shifts? I honestly don’t know how you do it! I wouldn’t be alive with so little sleep 🥺 I’m plant based too and I don’t take iron vitamins either even though I should! I agree I never notice that much of a difference? You’re not alone 🥺💕


Haha don’t worry! Yeah I think I’d be fine if I slept like that too but when I force myself to sleep before I’m ready I just lay there for hours and feel like I’m aware that I’m awake when asleep (if that makes sense lmao). I wish I was a morning person 🥲
I work 12.5 hour shifts (sometimes I get a cheeky half day but it’s once in a while haha)! I’ve honestly tried everything for sleep (including sleeping pills) nothing works for me. I’ve never slept much even when I was a kid. I just can’t seem to switch my thoughts off haha! Try to make sure you don’t have anything caffeine related at least 3 hours before you try to sleep - this includes sodas they have caffeine in particularly coke. I hope you manage to solve your sleep issue ❤

I wake up at 6am and go to bed at 10pm. The first few days is exhausting because your body is not used to going to bed early but after that as soon as you get to bed you fall asleep immediately. I have struggled with sleep in the past and the only thing that helped was switching off all devices at least an hour before bed and reading. Also drinking water and eating throughout the morning helps stay awake. I hope you manage to solve it 💕

I should do this on the nights I need to get up early and see if I notice a difference! I haven’t felt tired since I got my water bottle and I’ve been drinking 2 litres of water a day instead of nothing and it’s helping already! Thank you 💕

Yep my boyfriend bought it me for Christmas and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sleep without it ever again! 🤣🤣

I’m home alone tonight so I think I’m just going to order a Chinese and maybe watch a film but I’m not sure what to watch! I always end up just watching the same things over and over lol. Are you doing anything exciting?

I was meant to be going out but I feel really light headed and nauseous so I’ve stayed in 🥲 My boyfriend’s still gone out so now I have fomo but it means I can watch the soaps in peace without being asked 100 questions 🤣

Speaking of terrible sleep - I've had the last two weeks off work pretty much (due to family visiting so I'm on annual leave) and my sleep has been worse than ever... been lucky if I get 2 hours a night. Wish I could be like Maddy and sleep in until 12pm :(

Moms I’m on the hunt for some nice spring/summer sandals but I’m quite picky and can’t find anything I like! I’m looking for some that don’t show too much toe(can’t be giving that away for free😉), not chunky/platform and ideally not slip on as I’ve quite slim feet so need a strap for support. Basically something I can throw on with a pair of linen trousers or midi dress and look like I’ve made a slight effort. If anyone sees any that fit that description then send them my way please!🤪

I have the opposite problem because my feet are really wide!!!

Noooo 🥺❤️ Omg this though! I feel tired all day but stop myself sleeping cos then I won’t sleep at night but then it gets to night time and I can’t sleep 😭

In October she had HFM, then December she had conjunctivitis, February HFM again (moved nurseries closer to work), then she had a sickness bug the last week of March and she woke up this morning full of cold?!

I don’t have children, but it’s perfectly normal for kids to get bugs often… it helps build up their immune systems. If you’re worried though, maybe go for a check up with your gp? Might be something simple like taking vitamins or something x

Say you dated someone before you got with your current partner and then lost touch because you’re with your new partner and life goes on, yada yada. Is it acceptable for them to get in contact again but it’s just to ask how you are/general conversation/to stay in touch. Nothing romantic. Is that ok? Would you be annoyed if your partner did that?

Hmm I think it would depend on how that relationship ended. If it fizzled out and ended because they were more like friends then I don’t think I would be annoyed. It would also depend on how honest my partner was being about it too. I guess I would trust them until they gave me a reason not to or if I felt things were a bit off. I would definitely be curious as to what the ex’s intentions were though.
