I'm not a gamer, but what I looked up is that they get paid to integrate it into games. They have VC money too from a few years ago, but typically those types ramp up value then force a sale to highest bidder. I can't imagine their profits are really big at this point, if at all.

I used Discord for other hobbies before the club ever started. I will say they could utilize the newer Discord features better. I also remember they did an announcement where they are a Discord Partner, which makes me think they are making some money from just having such a large community and with it they get features other servers I am in don't as they aren't in that category. Granted, I don't know much about the Discord Partner thing, I just remember them announcing it.
Yeah, it's a little weird. Not sure why Discord would need all the metrics to be met and maintained for partners if they're not collecting data. That doesn't make sense to me. I was just reading an article saying they add trackers just like Facebook etc. and they do sell data to 3rd parties. It also harvests your contacts if you link other social media. That's why they're happy to give it for "free".

So about 100 people said no to renewing on January 1st. This might be expected around the holidays though. If this decline continues it might become alarming but for now they are still making a ton of money from their Patreon.

Their income isn’t bad at all but keep in mind they have no benefits with it and also probably have high expenses. Even with an annual pass, Disney etc isn’t cheap.
I also tend to think their numbers will continue to decline. Just a feeling I have based on the quality of their content and overall attitudes.

It is $400K between three people. We don't really know their salaries though. I am sure they aren't pulling 100% of the money out of the business. That said, they certainly aren't struggling....
It's probably more like half a million with everything else. Super chats and sponsors and all the rest. Hell, probably more than that.

I understand being bored with the content on their new channel because I was even kinda bored with her before she left AE, but I genuinely can't understand trying to twist it like they haven't been massively successful financially for what they're actually doing. There's no way they expected to get $30K monthly on Patreon right out of the gate. Even if it dips it's still going to be way above what they could have hoped for. If there ends up being an expiration date on their success, at least she can say she got to earn a living for a while by making Disney World videos with her husband and friend.
I wish. Still not sure why two companies that make blockbuster movies can't themselves make great videos showing how to navigate their parks.

Why do that when they have these people doing it for free, or even paying the parks (admission, food) to do it. These YouTuber probably get far more reach than DIsney or Universal would and people relate more to these YouTubers than some stoogy guy putting on a persona. Well, many YouTubers are putting on a persona also, but people buy in, they think they are also friends. Social Media is a huge part of the marketing effort and why these companies invite them all to their media events.

Yeah vloggers = free advertising. No reason to shut it down. If some huge incident happens or if enough paying customers complain maybe something will change.
And would you go to a restaurant that banned outside reviews? Technically some vlogging falls under journalism/reviews. Making crafts out of paper in the parks while recording it? Not so much.

No doubt their patreon is performing better than any of us or them thought it would. Recessions, tend to have people pull away from extrenious spending so if this economy doesn't start to improve soon we will see it slide further.
I don't have a clue what their plans for the funds are (Alan said something about an international cruise? and Molly indicated more trips around the country in 2023) but I'd think they'd still do well with 1/2 of the support they're currently getting.

Yeah, basically. It's blurred due to what trolls have done to basically anyone eating a hot dog in pics/video. To them I say:
It's a freaking food item. Stop sexualizing it.
IMHO, the best route would be just to leave the bite out of the clips but trolls will find something new to photoshop.

I thought it was because Molly doesn’t like hot dogs? In the DCA draft video (which I did not enjoy) they forced Molly to eat one with them, and blurred it as they were all putting it in their mouths, which I agree sexualizes it even more! I thought they were doing it to make it “funny” because of Molly’s strong disliking of hot dogs. But the fact they did it right when it was being put in their mouths, especially the men, made it weird. I don’t find it funny at all. I don’t want to see her be forced to eat another hot dog. We get it, she doesn’t like hot dogs. Park food is expensive. Why spend money on something you don’t want to eat? I blame Max, the chief chaos officer as he dubbed himself, for these “zany” videos that fall flat. Does anyone else miss a good ol’ Molly AE video of a perfect day in the parks? I desperately wanted that for Disneyland and did not get it.

I blame Craig and Rhino of the DIS for making this an awkward thing years back for the theme park vloggers. Rhino specifically was making sexual refrences and even insisted on co-biting a hot dog with Craig. That was about when I stopped liking them. No need to do that with videos kids will also be watching.
Now, did they start this weird thing, probably not but I'm pretty sure they brought it TO theme park vlogging and as a predominantly gay company they just let it go.
