MOD & FOD #36 Whatever we said, whatever we did, we didn’t mean it. We just want FOD back selling goods.

A friend of mine’s wife has just become qualified to be a life coach ... which made me shudder a bit as I’ve always found her a leetle bossy, patronising and humourless 😆

I know this is going to sound mean but the sort of people I want life coaching from simply wouldn’t have the time to life coach me, nor the inclination to charge mega money because they’ve got other things going on...? Like they’d be happy mums / happily married / successful in our shared professional field / just keeping on building a life? I don’t really want someone with that much spare time giving me advice on what to do 🥴 Or pretending there’s any one silver bullet?

The making women magnetic feels like it’s more about presentation / confidence / tbh how to be a posh insta mama type so there’s definitely a market for it, it’s just sad there is...

We know someone who years ago took a business grant the government were doing in deprived areas (so long ago it was a labour government who did these things 😂) so decided to open a highstreet premises for her life coaching?!?! As if you’d pop into topshop for some new skinnies, boots for some new foundation and ur flu jab, then her shop to sort ur life out?! Also it was her first ever job at nearly 30, I don’t think I need the advice of someone who has to catch up with me? 🥴🤷🏻‍♀️

The only person I know who set herself up as a life coach was a bit of a failure as a functioning adult. She never bonded with her son and made her father in law do most of the childcare (which seemed to involve a lot of going to the betting shop), he was a sad little boy... then having a girl who she idolised 🤐, travelling around the world with her banker husband and bursting into tears at inopportune moments for seemingly no reason despite having the easiest bleeping life ever. She wasn’t a nasty person ... just didn’t seem to be able to manage basic things like not totally alienating her first born because it wasn’t her preferred sex.

Anyone posted this before? 😬😬

Precisely .. I rarely take life advise or inspiration from anyone under 40 😂

omg surely because of covid this must be available to watch online? I still can't believe / understand this story.

I don't understand why these inherited wealth mamas are so vicious to other women, like they've won the genetic lottery as it is being born into families that buy their houses & decorate them, let them splurge on hauls to grow their insta followings and settle into easy street as an insta influencer... like no one is going to rip that away from them so why do they have to behave like such animals?! It's like mean girls in your 30s & 40s?

When I see these kind of photos on IG I just think what a knob. We were in Tower Bridge on Monday (French student staying so we did the sights etc, London is totally empty!) there was a girl stood by the bank of the river doing the pointy leg foot in front of the other leg thing, clearly for IG - maybe she's insta-famous, I didn't have a clue - the fella was dutifully taking tons of photos. It is so recognisable now! I wanted to go over and tell her, you're missing the point of... everything, and you look totally ridiculous. I think I might be a bit of miserable bastard, yeah no, it is ridiculous.

Brush your bleeping hair Zoë FFS.

Maybe cause at the end of the day a #collaboration will usually only go to one of them. There will always be that undercurrent of competition against each other for that #AD with amazon or Cadbury's. Their mantra of women supporting women is only there when there's something in it for them.

And 6 sessions for £1800 ( so £6 more expensive than if bought separately) 😂...maths obviously not part of their skill set

The fortnum and Mason hamper (I was reading a christmas thread on mumsnet) have a point about being cheaper then if the items were to be bought separately.

My therapist has three degrees and charged £40 an hour for the past 3.7 years (£45 when he comes back from his summer break.) I did see him at his lower rate instead of his normal London fee of £57 and £67 for an evening session. He had trauma training. Therapists have to be regulated but anyone could set themselves up as a life coach.

So FOD’s last real post was the space launch. It comes back today. Is today the day, Sly?! And perfect timing too, it’s meant to splash down just before 8pm U.K. time. He can post about his boyish space dreams and mix it in with how much he’s enjoyed his social media break and how they’ve re-connected as a family.
