Someone just sent me this from a parenting group they are on. Not sure if I’m reading this completely right but MOD was on women’s hour speaking about midwifery and said something which hasn’t been scientifically proven and said she would release a statement on social media with a correction but instead just blocked the person who called her out on it...

Wow. So, basically she's more concerned with her enjoyment of life than she is with the welfare of many pregnant women who may take her advice on board and treat it as gospel.

Maybe they’ve forgotten that she actually has a personal account! She probably never posts on it so it’s not on their radar. Nothing is personal to them, not even their babies’ arses!

It’s seems as if she’s getting crucified for anything and everything now.

I’m pretty sure that my hospital consultant said similar to me. I haven’t read them in depth, but skim reading & MoDs responses don’t come across as that unreasonable to me. The person who sent them on the other hand was coming across as a tad persistent to put it politely.

I think what she was getting at is there’s clients of hers who would listen and possibly push for an unnecessary induction which causes more risks for mother and baby because of what Clemmie said. Surely she can’t just spout stuff on the radio which has no scientific back up.

If she wasn’t so arrogant with her self love I’d agree with you.

She could have closed the conversation sooner and in a professional manner without that tone.

Bloody hell. Can't take a bit of professional questioning and wants to focus on feeling self congratulatory about her book (for middle class white women). This is why she's been caught out, because her attitude stinks. When you're in the public eye like that you need to be held accountable and take responsibility, politely, when questioned, not get tetchy about perceived 'negativity' . The questioning was professional, not personal, but she conflates the two.

It's standard to offer induction around 41 weeks anyway. There are far more risks involved in waiting once you get to that point as the shocking recent study in Sweden showed. Not a fan of her but she was fair to say that.
