Imagine having a big bedroom, but no second living area?! What a waste of space, and with 3 kids. Everyone crammed in the one space with toys etc

No second living space may be the strangest decision for a family of five - especially if building a massive magical farmhouse. Heck she could have had three living spaces which for a larger family home these days is pretty standard.

With the space they have the could have easily had a children's wing to the house - we have the children bedrooms and a children's lounge/playroom away from the main living space and our room and it works so well, and will continue to work well as they grow up.

So she plans on hiding in her bedroom while the kids have the run of the house as they get older and fight over the lounge room or will they be banished to play under the magical tree when they are teenagers?

Stupid stupid stupid decision not to have a second living area - that's where you send your kids and their friends when they older - not you going and sitting in your bedroom to get away from the kids. She has ZERO idea!!!!

Those curtains are shocking, if I was gee I’d be asking for them to be fixed or a refund. They look like home made ones from the 80’s.

They opted not to have a second living but took the space themselves?! Rookie error!! You don’t want to have someone watching tv in your BEDROOM (regardless of what she calls it) when your kids want to watch one show and another person (adult or child) wants to watch something else..
also I can’t imagine she’d be cool with toys and play equipment everywhere in her ONLY living space … but her kids are young-they want to play and make noise and create! Give them a space to play!!! Such a selfish move in my opinion.

I’M TRYING SO HARD TO LIKE THIS HOUSE, KYREE!!!! It’s a disaster. I just assumed there was a playroom or another living area somewhere. This house is how many years in the making? Denny only just turned two, he still has YEARS where a playroom is useful. Almost gets more useful as they grow and get bigger!

They’re not even outdoor people?! I wonder if they’ll eventually extend or they’ll just move and build again. Small bathroom for three teens, no separate living space…

I can't believe that whole lounge area is the only lounge area thats so strange, it she didn't have a storage room for her junk some random mud room with a small tiny bathroom, so could created a 2nd lounge area. Her 3rd build and she still clueless.

I thought it was strange not to have a second living room. As you don't always want to shut yourself a way in your parents retreat. Also it would devalue the property.

We have a parents retreat, we are in SE Queensland so decided to make ours a large balcony off our room, honestly we’ve used it about a dozen times in 6 years, we’ve just started making it a priority to sit out there every morning and have our coffee, but it’s definitely not a substitute for our second living room, that our kids use every day to watch tv or read.
