Pete Burns says in his autobiography that he was absolutely revolted to see Jimmy Savile enter, which is why he spent the majority of Savile's visit to the house in the garden.

It's been years since I watched the ep but I am sure Pete even references the allegations surrounding Savile at one point.

Galloway, posturing twit that he is, was all over Savile like a rash.

I think I have an idea of how bad his injuries were but I also think I’ve shut them out of my mind.

I either watched or read something once about a documentary that was made on that night, and the producers discussed how they made the decision to actively leave out the details, because they considered them so horrific that the documentary would be rendered unwatchable if included.

It reminds me of little James Bulger. You had people saying they were only kids and deserved a second chance because the papers weren't allowed to go into full detail about what they did to that poor baby. Even after it came out Venables had been done for having CP several times it wasn't allowed so you had idiots claiming while Venables was evil, Thompson had done his time and behaved...

This is the same situation. I think if it became public just how bad it was instead of the sugar-coating it did, a lot of those wanting him back on the TV would soon be changing their minds.

Wasn’t the whole thing with that case that the psychologists all thought Thompson was the ringleader and venebles being strung along but by all accounts Thompson seemed to make a ‘recovery’ (and I know that probably isn’t the best terminology but it is the only word I can think of) but seemingly Thompson lives a quiet life yet venebles was going round to parties telling people who he was if I remember correctly. They both had pretty rough upbringings, not that it is an excuse but it won’t have helped matters

I'm not sure. I do remember watching a show about it on Channel 5 a few years back. One of the detectives said something along the lines of he had dealt with all sorts of criminals during his years on the force including killers but he had never seen anything as scary as when he looked into Venables's eyes. He said it was like they were empty and the tears and upset disappeared as soon as he realised it wasn't working which chilled him.

Every time he has been released, he has bragged about who he is to the point there are questions about why they keep giving him new identities as it costs so much money every time. It also doesn't help he more or less looks the same as he did, just older so it wouldn't be that hard for people to put two and two together. There was talk about trying to send him abroad a few years back but a lot of countries made it clear if they did, he would be sent back on the next plane.

Yeah, I think Thompson has just disappeared into normal life, working and living quietly with his partner who knows who he is. Much like Mary Bell, another child murderer who had a horrendous early life.

There seems to be some child criminals who appear to be created by their early life and perhaps a weakness in them which disappears when they're given help and stability and others who are just warped to the extent that they cannot be helped.

It probably didn’t help venables that if I remember correctly one of the staff in the detention centre place started a relationship with him. Complete abuse of position. Not excusing anything he did but ffs that’s not going to rehabilitate anyone.

Few months back I did see a couple of clips of that kids say the funny things and I did think it was funny but more for the kids and did think he drew it out of them well and played to the audience but that doesn’t mean I don’t think he is a massive bleep. I certainly didn’t comment on it kissing his arse though. The documentary with Stuart’s dad is one of the most heartbreaking things I have seen

On the celeb gossip thread someone mentioned a table leg being used to assault Stuart.

I haven’t heard this before.

Is it true or did that poster have their wires crossed?
