Poor Michael never got to have hot tub time on this cruise. #1 negative in comparison to all the hot tub time he gets on DCL, for sure. The guy begins the video talking about paper towels for drying your hands & how great Royals paper towels are much better than DCL's. Riveting. All bets that he becomes obsessed with becoming the best at Flowrider & is at the Orlando/Kissimmee location weekly to practice.

I love how upset Mike is because he can't get a hot tub all to himself on the cruise. And I don't think he has ever been off the ship at Nassau on any of his trips expect to take his dumb bleeping jumping pictures on the pier between the Dream and Wonder. So he has actually no idea what the port is even like but since the mouse isn't protecting him he stays away.

And him doing the finger guns at the camera during the skating today was probably to help get some extra Kaykateer dollars.

Loud boom boxes are scary too. 🎶😱

I know a lot of y’all have been on these cruises and I never have, so I’m genuinely curious here. But it’s really, really hard for me to believe that RCL’s food is such a big step down from DCL’s that Michael would have something negative to say about almost everything on the former yet virtually zero negative comments on the latter. It’s all cruise food, isn’t it? Unless you’re in a specialty restaurant with an upcharge, are the two lines’ food offerings really all that different? It certainly looks similar on camera.

Even Cabanas vs. Windjammer — they’re both mass-catered cruise buffets, and on camera the food looks pretty much the same. Yet Michael has composed sonnets about how fresh and delicious the (frozen, Krispy Kreme) donuts are at Cabanas, but said a lot of the things at Windjammers were flavorless and disappointing.

Someone with cruise experience please tell me — is there that big of a food quality gap between the two lines? Or does Michael just subconsciously add points for Disney magic?

Video #3... MK did NOT have a good time on this "adventure." I actually, sort of, feel sorry for him. He is clearly afraid of people/grown ups and didn't feel comfortable participating in any activity requiring interaction with those groups. Opportunities just floated on by (e.g. swim-up tiki bar on Coco Cay; pool time on-board; Super Bowl activities; etc.).

His misery couldn't even be shifted by food. Could barely give a good word to any of his meals.

Maybe he does need to stick to Disney World. I'm convinced this trip wasn't his plan/idea, but his family's, and he needed to try to spin it to appear to be branching out. Epic fail. 😶
He was absolutely miserable on this trip. He will never book another RCL cruise unless he is gifted one. That next cruise portion was just grifting for more cash exactly how he does with merchandise.

The Royal Carribean food is fine. It's cruise food, as you mentioned. He had the option to upgrade to other venues, if he wanted more of a "gourmet" experience.

Basically that's what you're doing by paying thousands more for a Disney cruise. It is a little better food, but not THAT MUCH. It's still cruise food...

IMO, MK simply cannot appreciate anything else but Disney. It's his comfort zone... his warm blanket. Nothing else will ever compare in his mind.

Now don't laugh at me, but I have been on 12 Disney Cruises. I have never been on another cruise line, but we have been looking into it recently. However, my understanding based upon being an experienced overeater at 5 Diamond and 3 Michelin Star restaurants and many other really good restaurants/resorts: Disney Cruise food in the rotational dining rooms for evening meals (no upcharge, included in the high cruise price) is top notch. My first cruise on DCL I was blown away by the evening meals. I've seen a number of cruise reviewers compare DCL food to food on other cruise lines and they say this: DCL is not trying to force you into upcharge dining experiences by serving blah food in the standard dining venues, but that seems to be the game plan with many other cruise lines.

Noteworthy: Michael always raves about Cabanas on DCL. THAT is standard cruise food, buffet stuff, it's good, but it's nothing too special; I rarely eat there. At least one of the rotational restaurants is open for lunch so we go there (it's a lot quieter and the food is a lot better and no upcharge:love:). Every time michael raves about Cabanas I want to 🤜🤜🤜🤜🤜

All of the DCL ships have a Palo restaurant -- tremendous brunch and really good dinners for a modest upcharge (about $45/person). The two larger DCL ships have Remy restaurants which are superb ($75 brunch/$125 dinner). Michael likes the Palo brunch, which is the correct call, but he did not like his Remy dinner, that's an idiotic call and I loathe Michael's immature palate.

I've never been on DCL, so I can't do a direct comparison, but I have been on Royal Caribbean, and it's...fine, I guess.

Also, while I enjoy getting dishes that I wouldn't be able to eat at home, but I can't say that it's make-or-break for the experience. Although Celebrity blows the RCI out of the water.

I mean, they charge out a number of orifices to even get on the ship. They'd better not downgrade the food.

Having said that, in the videos of Disney cruises that I've seen, the food doesn't look amazing.

Comment of the Day. Wish it was mine.

You complain about the boom box being loud - I would find you filming people and talking out loud completely annoying

Michael wasn't overjoyed with a lot of the food on RCL, but don't forget, the cruise he went on just before COVID he got slammed for being negative about all the food on that one too!

DCL food rated at the top of the cruise industry by cruiseline.com:
Which cruise line has the best food?

Thanks for the hot takes on the food situation, all! I think it says a lot that I find the opinions here way more trustworthy than Michael’s. Once you see someone shed a tear over a White Castle slider, it kinda becomes hard to take their food opinions seriously. And I’m not being a snob — I’m speaking as an East Coaster who was genuinely excited to try In-N-Out when I visited California for the first time. Fast food has a time and a place. But to see Michael turn his nose up at Remy and then gush over a mass-produced breakfast pastry... I mean I guess that’s why we’re all here, haha!

I mean, taste is subjective. But even the presentation of the food on DCL (again, this is only judging from videos from Kyle Pallo and Patrick Dougall) is really underwhelming to me.

He should have done the steakhouse. With the proviso that I'm used to New York City prices, it's also not that expensive.

I've only been on RCL and Norwegian and didn't see any major differences, had great meals on both but a lot more signature variety from Norwegian (which does cost additional if it's not in a package). But if you get your money's worth from the drink package like I always do, you won't have any complaints about the food.

Michael's tastes are sugary pastries, sugary drinks and processed hamburgers. His preference in DCL's culinary offerings is almost a compliment to RCL.

I love how upset Mike is because he can't get a hot tub all to himself on the cruise.

I heard he gets a bonus from Team Kaykateer for every vlog that includes a steamy pool or hot tub scene.

so I see when Mikey was ice skating, he looked up to the seats and the mystery dude waved at him (at about the 7:09 mark)

I also can't believe they stayed on the ship at Nassau. If that were me and I had to stay on the ship because Mikey needed someone to video him skating and on the flowrider, I'd be pissed. I can just hear him telling them that it's not worth heading off ship eventhough he's never been off ship anywhere other than the ship's private islands
