In the uk you have to stay in some form of education till your 18. Most go to sixth form or college to do a levels or equivalents.

It varies country to country within the UK, I left school at 16 (My birthday is after summer) in Scotland because I sat my sqa highers (I think equivalent A-levels) and didn’t want to go to uni

Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s only been a thing for a couple of years x

it was the school year of people born 1996-1997. So class of highschool leavers 2013 maybe?? that’s when it changed and they made it compulsory to stay in education after leaving high school at 16 so you had to either go to a sixth form or college. That’s the U.K. anyway.

I can probably just confirm this as i am currently in 6th form. When i was leaving my secondary school we had a choice of 6th form, college or going to an apprenticeship. But some people took a year out for reasons for example like what mia did! But we have to be in some form of full time education until 18 most of the time now!

I’m in Scotland and did high school from 2010-2014, didn’t do college or uni. You definitely don’t have to stay in education

Her recent insta story 🤦‍♀️

she just wants everything for freeeeee that’s why. Genuinely loving a brand, buying things from it and then promoting it with a discount code is how you get the brand deals that “gift” everything to you Mia. They aren’t just handed to you, you got to work for it first. We know that’s all you want, free tit 🙄

I finished school in 2016 and didn’t have to go to college but I went because I found a course I really enjoyed

Yeah I’m sure there’s exceptions if you have plans, I know my brother went on to do an apprenticeship but he had to get really good GCSEs and a recommendation off his school to get on it.Depends what you do, it requires different things maybe. Other than that you have to stay in education, I think 😀

whereas I could leave school and go straight into paid work, you can’t do that now

I left at 15 and went straight into work

Cloth nappy video coming. I really hope she does this one well and gives the right info. A few weeks ago she wasn’t fastening them up right and I messaged really politely just to say she needs to do up the rise but never got a reply 🙄 I’ve been doing cloth nappies for 3.5 years now, and although I’m so pleased to see her using and promoting them, I doubt after only a month or 2 using them she knows enough to put a video out 🙈
Fellow cloth bum mum here I really hope so to she also hasnt used many different types I have only seen her use pockets tbh. I messaged her and politely commented on her Instagram photo of how to fit one. Also she dosnt seem to use night nappies she just changes mable at her dream feed so she wont give the right info on that.

On beths boyfrien
A few years back it was extended to 18, either work/apprenticeship, sixth form or college, I think it was to push more people into uni, and to stop people leaving at 16 and just not doing anything because they were still quite young in terms of employment
It’s not monitored properly, you can just say you’re going to college and then drop out , no one chases you
whats sixth form?

whats sixth form?

Sixth form (ages 16-19) are usually tied with a high school so when pupils finish their gcse they will “carry on” to their own schools sixth form, they focus mainly on Alevel subjects whereas a standard sixth form College focuses on btec courses such as health and social care or animal care but most still provide alevels.

but that post does have a point, i get DMs from companies asking me to promote their brand for what like 25% off? The things they sell aren’t cheap either. Its another way of getting people to invest their money. An ‘small influencer’ spending £20-£40 on items, then advertising them for free. Its a scam. People like Mia cannot afford to be doing that

Yeah I’ve noticed she just seems to use china cheapies, which is fine but you can’t claim to know enough for a video if you’re only using one kind, not very well for a short amount of time 🙈

She’s trying out different ones cheap and expensive to see if the expensive ones are any different to the cheap ones and just to see which ones are better

Just going to leave this here 😂 We all know different

Hi new here! Did anyone else notice that she removed the boosters/inserts from the nappies whilst hanging to dry AFTER they’d been washed?! 🤢 I’m fairly new to cloth nappies but I know you should remove before hand to make sure they clean thoroughly!
