What’s the difference exactly with the mid-wife led birth that she’s looking for. Is it a birth from home? Or just in a different part of the hospital or something?

That's what I thought ? I'd have thought they would even offer her an induction ,the risk of shoulder dystocia increases with the size of the baby ..
My baby was big and I went to 42 weeks, no one at Holles talked about induction to me.

as for her birth plan, I don’t think anyone would even look at it if she’s giving birth on a public system. They are too busy there for that stuff

Here they would sometimes offer an induction depending on the circumstances ,but as for birth plans  they just roll up their sleeves and get on with it and wheel the next person in ..I think she'd have to go private to fulfill that dream..

it just happened to be a unit without consultants in management I think. In Ireland if you’re giving birth on the public system it’s midwife led care ANYWAY unless something is wrong etc. I don’t think she even understands that properly seeing as she didn’t know what an obstetrician was.

the difference is a few couches and snacks and some bleeping candles, it’s a “home” environment and your partner can stay with you the whole time.

god forbid Mel is left with her own baby if thomas can only be there during visiting hours, will be nice for them to get away from the attic for a while though 😂

one of the reviews from the unit, so perfect for Melanie. 😏

Amazing experience from start to finish. Unbelievable that this is a public service as you feel like a VIP throughout. The care, support & empowerment handed back to you enabling a birth of your wishes.
I couldn’t recommend these ladies more & we will be eternally grateful to the MLU Drogheda for the care provided to us all.

Ever since someone pointed it out, I can't really get over Mel's constant foul language in her posts- I'm no prude but sometimes there is a thing as unnecessary cursing and just because you're oirish doesn't mean you have to curse every second and talk about your baby "pissing inside" you  like...there's just NO need.

Also side note but I'm always mildly freaked out at videos of the babies moving inside mom's tum  and her baby looks huge!

Foul language? How dare you? It's clean prose, actually. If you had a degree in education you would know that. SMH. 😉

I just find it really unprofessional. I curse as much, if not more than the next person (we joke that my sons first word is going to be duck) but I don’t put that online!

Amazing that she can break her so called Twitter silence to demand something when it benefits her. Disappeared off it when she was silencing POC. Putting up Instagram feed pictures on saving the airline industry while not once used her platform to highlight the current crisis In direct provision.

Liking covid theories and quacks on Twitter but god forbid if she or her family were affected it would be a crisis and sewsew serious and demands to Stephen Donnelly to do something then. Selfish gobshite.

The cringe of her promoting her crappy books while hazel hayes is having conversations in her own house with established authors. 😂
