What's a this "I need you to challenge me" stuff? I can understand finding someone too laid back or perhaps boring even but the need to feel challenged just screams 'issues' to me. It seems a bit immature and I feel like she had a lot of work to do on herself.

Definitely nobody is ever comfortable long term in a challenging relationship. It should be about love and support not bloody confrontation all the time.
