Yeah it’s a bit of a blurry line there - she’s not your mate, she’s your employer. Oh yeah and in Jessie’s case, meal ticket and mother in law too
I think Mia is quite good at seeming like she's your best mate, or making out that a lot of people are close friends of hers, when in reality things probably aren't like that. I'd feel quite wary of her in the workplace, which would be quite hard if she were my boss.

From the outside, Mamamia seems to be quite a 'cliquey' environment where a select few employees like Jessie (and to some extent Clare) are massively pushed into the limelight. Jessie has hosted countless podcasts whereas others maybe don't get the same opportunity? The Undone was cancelled when it was just coming into its stride, and I think Cancelled was launched shortly after. Objectively, The Undone was a better podcast - it added value by raising important topics that affect younger women and to that end, it contributed more towards Mamamia's key aim of 'Making the world a better place for women and girls'.

Mamamia seem to engage in a very kind of subtle censorship…. Limiting comments on posts, deleting articles.
surely a company that is set up to cover topics that women are supposedly interested in would want to listen to the persp of all of their readers?? Or do they just write for a particular reader in mind?

I realised exactly what they were like after not once discussing Georgia Love and any of her many indiscrections (cat photo / Saudi Arabia paid holiday / leaked channel 7 email) She is a "friend" of the podcast and to me, not covering any of that was not fair journalism or media coverage or whatever it is they claim to be

I would even call what they do journalism… they’re all opinio pieces and advertorials. It’s like Moria from the morning show, in digital format, just selling tit!

This is so true! Their podcasts are very fluffy and surface. I really liked the Undone- surely Lucy Neville will move on to greener pastures soon. I couldn’t cope in such an extra workplace - it looks exhausting

They definitely do this. I have listened to Outloud for years and for the most part enjoyed the eps, but something has changed and it is now very sterile. I was also in the Outloud group and submitted a post about the changes in the podcast and it was rejected. They certainly silence anything that isn’t absolutely positive about the podcast. I wrote it very respectfully and asked whether some changes in hosting (like a rotation) of hosts might shake things up. It’s weird that they wouldn’t want open, respectful dialogue. I’ve always been a big fan of Mamamia but now I think very differently of them which is a shame.

I listened to MMOL today and there was one section where Jessie sounded so terse. It was during a conversation about whether people should leave their issues at home or bring their ‘whole selves’ to work (as is usually the case, common sense is in the middle). Jessie was verrrry annoyed saying ‘no, listen to me’ through gritted teeth. Anyone else catch it?

Yes! I did. Today’s episode was very tired. I felt I had heard all of the topics before, nothing new. I’m just over hearing the same old conversation just recycled. They need a change in the hosting. Jessie just seems over it and seems to not be able to take anyone being not aligned to her thinking. Loved it when Susan Carland was filling in. She brought lightness to a very flat conversation.

Yes I listened on my afternoon walk. Jessie needs to go. Give the role to Em Gillisepe, she was fab filling in and have heard her on The Hack before. Jessie sounds like a right spoilt brat and if no one agrees with her she gets really bloody bratty. Time for a shape up Mia. Time for Jessie and her out dated thick black eyeliner to leave.
Jessie's Instagram post to her boyfriend for his birthday came up on my feed today. He's the splitting image of Mia. Jessie (& her twin sister) are unusual looking. She should stop dyeing her hair that blonde and lay off the eyeliner.

I agree, Em actually seems happy to be there. Jessie needs to move on.

He really does hey? Bit creepy. I agree regarding the eyeliner but I think blonde is pretty close to natural for her?
