Yeah she was a producer and left and came back as executive producer. I think when Rachel Corbett left a few years agoDid she leave Mamamia and then come back?
No I think she left when she was the exec producer of MMOL and then came back a few months later as Head of PodcastsYeah she was a producer and left and came back as executive producer. I think when Rachel Corbett left a few years ago
I think they have to give it a content warning if there are swear words? And then it doesn’t get as much reachSorry all this will sound very trivial, but I was listening to Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dee on Cancelled today and noticed they now bleep their F words- is this now the norm on MM podcasts? They never used to bleep swear words and I find it so irritating to listen to a show aimed at adults that edits out words- either don’t swear or just leave them in! If they’re giving Sophie Cachia a podcast and censoring swear words there will be more bleeps than actual content…
Hmm, they definitely haven’t ever used a content warning before! It’s a mystery. Thankyou for the reply.I think they have to give it a content warning if there are swear words? And then it doesn’t get as much reach

The guests she interviews are usually doing press so on multiple podcasts saying the same stuff.Mia’s one on one interviews are ridiculous. Literally everyone she has on there is hocking a book and only tells half the story, presumably so people buy the book.
she used to have some interesting guests but now they are B listers or nobodies selling stuff
I had to turn off the one about the woman with 2000+ personalities… such a shame, a very important story and should’ve been handled better. Mia just doesn’t explain anything, know when to jump in, or hold space properly. She made it so hard to follow. I went to look it up and it was a TW child sexual abuse case (don’t google if this is a very sensitive, triggering topic)… it could have been very validating and important for the survivor to tell her story the way she wanted to, but she was cut off… Mia also only wants clickbait moments and generally asks questions for shock value.Mia’s one on one interviews are ridiculous. Agree. Plan ahead, set reminders. How can you be this bleeping chaotic.I think the quality of the episodes has definitely gone downhill. More does not equal better! I used to quite enjoy listening to them and liked many of the previous hosts like Monique and Sam and I lived Rachel Corbett. Didn’t particularly like Jesse to start with, she seemed very immature and everything was ‘problematic’. I still like Holly though, maybe cu more down to earth than the other two.
I started listening to the Shameless girls a few years ago and I love their podcasts, once a week from them is great, all their discussions are well researched and they are always respectful of each other’s different opinions.
Agree. In her ‘worst of the week’ a few weeks ago she discussed something that happened with Sally Hepworth. I think Mia was doing a little intro at the start of an event for her latest book. They had been out somewhere and Mia decided that she would go back to the office first to do a bit of extra work. Then ended up being late. She didn’t give herself enough time to get there, she didn’t really know where she was going, she couldn’t find a parking spot, then she got lost, something else happened, lost her phone? she got there just in time but she was very upset about letting Sally down . I think she had also lost her notes or had forgotten to write something in the first place. Of course the entire thing got blamed on her ADHD. If she has ADHD and her actions and behavior are making life difficult for friends and family she needs to do something. By the sounds of things, friends and family have always enabled her behavior. I think her husband does a lot of the life admin things and I think Luca took on a lot of responsibility for things to when he lived at home. I have two children with ADHD and you have to take steps to have a functioning life and not be in a constant state of chaos.
Such a dumb name for a dog. Wtf.This is getting out of hand posted in the Facebook group
I’m a bit behind catching up on this thread but for pop culture ‘stop everything’ on the ABC listen app is great. Also this one with Ange LVPCan anyone recommend another podcast that is similar to Mamamia but not Shameless or Outspoken? I really like Show and Tell but can’t find anything more regular.
I’m love Bang On with Zan Rowe and Myf Warhurst.I’m a bit behind catching up on this thread but for pop culture ‘stop everything’ on the ABC listen app is great. Also this one with Ange LVP
Schmeitgeist with Ange Lavoipierre - ABC listen
Schmeitgeist is the pop culture podcast from ABC Everyday where we decode the biggest and weirdest trends. You’ll meet self-professed bimbo feminists, fall down the rabbit hole of edgy, online Catholicism, find out how an entire generation got to be mad at capitalism and allergic to monogamy...www.abc.net.au
When I saw that she was interviewing this woman, I thought here we go. Mia was in her usual form as you describedI had to turn off the one about the woman with 2000+ personalities… such a shame, a very important story and should’ve been handled better. The other half of the story is usually saved for the subscribers, but never interesting enough to subscribeThe guests she interviews are usually doing press so on multiple podcasts saying the same stuff.
I’m close to Jessie in age and also have a long term partner and we also have a bit of a complex about this tbh- however if I had a podcast I sure as tit wouldn’t be going on and on about it to the general public. Sure, it’s an interesting topic to discuss but it’s also quite personal and her personal issues shouldn’t be the focus of the show!Jessie has a complex about whether or not to have kids - she’s obsessed with the topic! I swear they talk about it every week on Out Loud, it’s getting sooooo old.
It seems like the podcast just rotates through what Jessie and Mia’s current personal angst is. It’s not what women are talking about. I wish Holly had more input because even Emma Gillespie is starting to echo the Jessie/Mia self indulgence. What happened to this podcast? It used to be so interesting. I barely get half way through an episode now.I’m close to Jessie in age and also have a long term partner and we also have a bit of a complex about this tbh- however if I had a podcast I sure as tit wouldn’t be going on and on about it to the general public. It’s so, so boring. You have a young partner, we know this Jessie.Jessie has a complex about whether or not to have kids - she’s obsessed with the topic! I swear they talk about it every week on Out Loud, it’s getting sooooo old.
Same here. Even The Spill is terrible nowI used to listen to most of the various Mamamia podcasts. Struggle to get through a whole one now. Am a subscriber but won’t be renewing. Too self indulgent, repetitive and one sided
