I am staggered they are allowed a mortgage for that amount!
She probably doesn’t realise that putting in that much over the asking price, if the house is worth only the asking price then you have to make up the rest of the money if the buyers won’t accept any less. Silly going in so high really, if the house is worth 300 and she’s offered 325, on top of her deposit she’s got to find another 25k because the banks will only mortgage it for what it’s worth. Pretty sure this is the way it goes.So not only is she saying they put an offer in on a house that was £100k over their budget…she’s now saying they’ve gone in £25k OVER the asking price. She really doesn’t have any idea does she

I didn’t know that!
Yup that’s exactly how it works. She probably doesn’t realise that putting in that much over the asking price, if the house is worth only the asking price then you have to make up the rest of the money if the buyers won’t accept any less. Yeah it’s madness isn’t it. It’s all well and good offering 25k over until you then have to find an extra 25k to follow through on that offer and that’s if the house has been priced properly! If it’s even valued at 5 or 10k under what it was put up for, then that’s potentially 30 or 35k they’ve got to find on top of their depositI didn’t know that!
Totally agree, unfortunately like it was said above by someone else, it’s very much a situation of her trying to keep up with the older mums she hangs out with. I actually find it quite sad that she feels like she’s missing out and feels like she’s behind everyone.. she’s 22 ffs!!My time line is quite similar to Maisie’s in terms of age of doing things - (although I was already renting my house before I got pregnant) we rented for 2 years and then decided to buy a house. We could of gone for a bigger house but didn’t see the point in stretching ourselves so settled for a 3 bed semi - and you know what 11 years later and another 2 kids later we are still in that same house. Our income is a lot more than back then so could easily afford a 4 bed detached house and as much as I would love the extra space we don’t want to because we enjoy going on 2/3 abroad holidays a year and being able to enjoy our lives. Surely she needs to be looking at the bigger picture rather than having an instragramable house.

It honestly does make me question how much these Tik Tokers actually earn or even how much she makes from her tote bag business because it just doesn’t make any sense to meI’d love to know how she can afford to buy a house and also get offered a mortgage when her spending habits are shocking and her ‘business’ is only 2 days a month max. Charlie also seems to be home a lot so I’d fail to see how they could get approved for a mortgage never mind trying to get one out of their price range
To be fair, maybe this is how she’s getting the extra money by making more videosShe’s proper dragging out these house videos isn’t she. 3 videos already and all she’s said is they’ve made an offer
I agree. I wouldn’t even say she was a popular tiktoker/influencer either. Anyone her age wouldn’t be able to have that kind of lifestyle. I also don’t get the impression that her parents/his parents are as materialistic as her either so I’d love to know how she’s so snooty to be honest?! She thinks at her age she should have a mortgage etc. there’s people a lot older than her who have worked full time and still don’t have a mortgage yet she’s making it seem like it’s the end of the world not to have one between her and Charlie I really do not know how they can get a mortgage especially with the amount of money they blow on stupid tit aka a trip to Australia where they done piss all but still managed to spend like 20kIt honestly does make me question how much these Tik Tokers actually earn or even how much she makes from her tote bag business because it just doesn’t make any sense to me

She’s so out of touch it’s unrealI don’t understand how she has the funds to get a mortgage while being self employed, spent the past two years going on more holidays than I’ve had in my life and then acts like being able to drop an extra 25k in cash is normal
