I’m catching up with the thread this morning and just read your heartbreaking post.
@Shoelaces you have been making us giggle since you started here and I always enjoy your posts. Without knowing a single thing about you, you just know when someone is a good ‘un.
To know now that this was going on in the background - your beautiful son and his huge health battle - is to admire you and your family beyond belief. As you say, all you asked for was more time. Your son was able to gain seven additional months which was your only wish at that point, and, thanks to your life savings and generous donations from decent people, time was granted. Thank you for sharing your story. You mean the world to us. You are a shining light and a beacon of hope in an often bleak world.
I think you are right about trying to distract ourselves from circumstances we have no control over and I often recite the Serenity prayer inside my head.
God, grant us the Serenity to accept the things we cannot change, Courage to change the things we can and the Wisdom to know the difference.
You have Wisdom, Courage and Serenity in spades,
@Shoelaces and sending you the warmest hug. To all our lovely Tattlers struggling right now, I’m throwing my arms around you and wishing you well.
On another note, myself and my husband recently gave a donation to a charity close to our hearts. The feedback was so positive, I felt almost embarrassed. We were invited to visit the project in the inner city and talk to the team and invited to discuss what and where the money was going. We had a wonderful morning and an unforgettable experience just learning that, in our small way, we were bringing a little good to a previously hopeless area. It’s immeasurable the payback for giving - beats a hundred white shirts and a dozen novelty greedhouse bags. Love to you all today.
@Shoelaces inspirational post has made me treasure you all of you all the more. ❤
