Incredible ROI from Lydia.
Mother flung some free bags and hair products occasionally and the father gets fawned over because he has a bob or two.

Much love, so proud.

My children can do what they want for a living but if they lie about who they are, about their backgrounds about the material fabric of reality, I will be heartbroken and so disappointed.

So they rented a house in Italy for a vacation, because renting a house is cheaper than a hotel for large groups. Now she’s trying to pass it off as her family’s. And her wealthy grandparents pool looks like every middle class pool in the 80s. Too big for the yard. And the weddings are very middle class 80s, rented cars and venues. I wish Amelia Liana would post photos from her childhood so that Lydia could see what a wealthy childhood looked like. One that didn’t end in tits out in Ibiza.

I would.imagine the stepmum is not too happy with Lyds sharing photos of The 1st Mrs Millen's wedding to Mr Millen. How insensitive and a tad cruel.
 
I am looking forward to the day Lydia is exposed to U and Non U. It will be laughable.

Signifiers only the public school (different to state school, remember and a “higher” form of Private school) set tend to understand. And sadly they secretly judge others on.

For instance I went to a public school for less than a year and was judged because I politely (in my mind) said thank you when I was served food or excuse me if I should burp. These were, to public school pupils, teachers, matrons and masters unacceptable and signs of being middle class - which was the worst thing these snobs thought you could be.

The set she wants into and pretends to be, will see through her without her knowing how or why.

Amelia's entire family (cousins, aunts, mum, dad, grandparents et al) have vacationed together at Hotel du Cap Eden Roc for 2 weeks - at a minimum - every year since Amelia was a child. This hotel is ultra exclusive. You cannot make an online booking. Amelia received Hermès bracelets as birthday presents from family friends. As a teen, borrowed her mum's Chanel bags.
Lydia wishes she had Amelia's life.

Those wedding photos are near enough a carbon copy of my parents! Couldn’t believe it when I saw it! I even think our dads had the same suit and hat??!??? It’s not timeless or shows wealth, it was standard of the times.

Also - it’s called timeshare Lyds. A lot of people had them back then. They weren’t “summer homes”

I could have written this post. My step kids would never do this… it would be hurtful to everyone, including themselves. So bizarro.

Yep. Very standard, just lower middle class cos higher middle class wealth does not at all show like her pictures have. So she has just given herself away with supposedly wealthy status symbols that were merely examples of how, on occasion and special events, lower middle class made all efforts (no shame absolutely, very valid indeed) to show up nicely done for events or to save up for rentals, etc. while on holidays. Again, so very normal, standard for those times and, of course, no shame at all and very valid. But ffs, higher middle class and bourgeoisie really looked impressive, always. Bourgeoisie has mostly always exuded internal class and elegance ever since it came about as an expanded standard tier in the class system in the 17th century.

FAIL, Lydiot, major fail. Learn your history and art history class all over cos you have just shown you came from a lower worker middle class, the one earning honest wages and consuming as such. You will never learn cos you never set foot in a bourgeois house, let alone an aristocrat one, in your life up until now when you are invited by brands to events or you somehow rent/beg for one for an occasional shoot in an effort to deceive you come from that. You don’t and there is no shame in that, so please stop pretending cos it makes you look desperate for one, but worse, contemptuous or shameful of your own very average roots.

I just read about U and non-U in a book about the history of English country houses in the twentieth century. Fascinating stuff!
