I feel like there's so many missing interpersonal scenes this year. I have no sense of who's friends with who. I honestly don't know how they fill 43 minutes of footage in each episode because barely anything is shown?
Hugo is really closed off from even the thought of connecting with anyone.
I have only seen Hugo handle situations with women harshly. & seems to think he's above it all. U can't be this picky in this environment, otherwise don't be on the show.
I feel he's focusing to much on looks/ his type, and not on personality or finding really love.
Honestly, this show is dead. Showed BF episode 1 of season 2 and he's like they're already far superior to the current lotTotally agree. Theyre overproducing it and losing any entertainment value in the process. Its so dull. Weird because the prev formula in older series worked so well.
Spot on. And now he’s run out of time. Poorly judged - he thought he was so charming, he’d see it through to the end. He can hardly blame Danny for ‘stealing’ AJ when he has given the girl nothing and Lucinda sees him as a brother, I’m guessing. He's very clearly into Lucinda. He's got tunnel vision, like he's biding his time for her, not letting anyone else even try with him.
I think they know she’s a good sport. She didn’t seem too offended or precious about being pied so I think the guys knew that and she was a safe bet because she wouldn’t get annoyed. Why was Faye pied so many times. I know she’s been very gobby but last 5 days or so we’ve hardly seen her. I agree that we don’t see them casually interacting together. There’s very little banter and nobody has gelled properly.
Know exactly what you mean about walking in next to Lucinda; on that day she wore her hair in a strange under-rolled bob, thankfully never seen since. But come the evening she changed into the killer dress of the season and has been perfectly presented since. I know we’ve got a few weeks to go but I’m inclined to put down some money on Liam and Millie being the winners of L17.It is interesting that so many people I'm sure (myself included) felt sorry for Millie as she walked in next to Lucinda. But she really has shone. She seems such a nice fun person. She and Liam are the only ones I can see lasting - as they both like each other a lot but aren't making a massive deal of it.
The boys virtue signalling their mates at home “strong women don’t bother me .. “. Only being slightly facetiousWhy was Faye pied so many times. I know she’s been very gobby but last 5 days or so we’ve hardly seen her. I agree that we don’t see them casually interacting together. There’s very little banter and nobody has gelled properly.
I don't want to be inflammatory but find some of the rhetoric around Danny quite disturbing. He may well turn out to be a confirmed knobhead and racist and it may all be warranted but the reaction to him is quite dangerous based on current information - just imo. I understand the anger around his use of that word and would never, ever condone it's use and think its abhorrent. HOWEVER purely based on that single instagram screenshotted comment I dont see how that can be extrapolated into he is a confirmed thug, edl, ku Klux klan member and deserves nothing but contempt. Could it not be that he is just thick as tit, ignorant of any racial nuances and thought he was being 'cool' or using something hes heard in songs/online? This doesnt excuse it but it also doesnt mean he is a confirmed racist. I wonder if his reception would be different if he didnt look the way he did.. shaved head, tattooed etc. I dont want to offend people but get a bit frustrated with blanket judgements about people these days without any context, nuance or giving them a chance to discuss it. But them im white, so understand people have every right to tell me I can never understand the impact something like this has.
Where is the toxic behaviour? I see an insecure young guy who is trying to find his place in the villa where friendships are already established.Okay... but this is Tattle. It's a gossip site, we watch the show and voice our opinions. We aren't sending them DMs or threats. We are chatting here, having a laugh.
Why is it okay to tear Lucinda apart for being a ditzy, manipulative vacant air head (all things that will affect her and her family just as much as Danny's) but not okay to point out the toxic aggressive behaviour of Danny??
I truly don't understand.
I agree it’s had its day. The format is the same and it’s boring. The casting is boring. People are fast seeing through influencers etc so even if anyone is successful people are over influencer culture. Plus with the negative press received by the show (rightfully) at their appalling treatment/support of mental health in former contestants/Caroline people are just done.I personally think this show is on its way out regardless, it just doesn’t have “it” anymore. I wonder if it’s because their audience have matured or if it’s because the casting this year has been atrocious. I don’t think we’ll ever hear from any of them again, not even for a measly hosting job.
I don't buy that it's been edited in a certain way either. I get that the villa is a bubble and will affect people in different ways but I'm not seeing the same behaviour from the other islanders so the producers should have had a serious word with him. They have a responsibility to do so. Plenty of us have picked up on his aggression and stinking attitude during his "argument" with Aaron, yet Aaron was perfectly calm and collected. You can edit it as much as you want, but ultimately it's his actions and words they're using. It likely is that he's just ignorant and a bit thick, but as someone above stated, we are not going to eradicate racism (which this is, ignorance or not) if we excuse it. I've known for years that it is an offensive word to say and I grew up in a very rural part of Scotland with basically no diversity. And I'm 10 years older than him. So I think it's right that people are calling him out on it. Plus, if he thinks it's ok to use that word (even if he thinks it's been used in a positive way) there will likely be other biases at play here.
I do think he should have been turfed out as soon as it was brought to the public's attention but, quite frankly, his behaviour in the villa so far has been troubling. I don't buy that it's been cleverly edited to make him look bad - his actions and words speak for itself. The fact he got so angry that Aaron tried to kiss Lucinda after they've coupled up showed how possessive he is and like he had ownership of Lucinda even though she had no say in their recoupling, the fact that he said his worst fear is his pride being hurt (such toxic masculinity), and the fact that he mocked Lucinda, the girl he fancies, just because she wasn't blowing all over him, was really nasty behaviour. We don't know for sure that he is an abuser but there are enough signs to make me incredibly wary of him. I certainly don't think it's behaviour that ITV should want to promote to what is predominantly a younger audience that may be impressionable over what is the right way to act/what kind of behaviour to accept in a partner.
I agree - we really shouldn’t go around in circles on this one and getting nowhere. The only thing I would add is that - right below the offensive tweet - someone commented ‘I would take that down, mate.’ My point is that even if he tweeted it in ignorance with no negative intent - he was alerted at the time that it was not on and still didn’t react appropriately. We can do mental gymnastics and excuses all day long but it really comes down to this he knows damn well he wouldn’t go up to floyd mayweather or terry crews and call them that word. I think it’s also unfair to go round in circles when black people have replied with their personal opinion and saying how behaviour like that being enabled makes them feel and have had their comments removed without explanation.
Wonder why they’re not removing comments from people defending him? Very disappointed.
