Women are seen as eye candy who do all the housework, be the perfect stepford housewife and should be subservient to their partner / husband and let him have all the power in the relationship. I’ve been in several relationships with Italian men and this was my experience.

Who are you to undermine my own experience. I’m sorry but Italy is still behind some other countries in terms of how they see women and they still think a woman’s place is to do housework. This is particularly noticeable in the south / Sicily. There are cultural norms that are also positive but this is one of the negative ones.

The Instagram post also proves my point where it says ‘if you want to be treated like a lady, act like one’
 
Wow there was a lot of chat on here last night. I might have missed some stuff so apologies if I repeat anything.

Gemma - liked her last night. A - for talking to Luca and saying calm the duck down. B - for advising Ekin Su to be honest with Davide. What a mature approach for the youngest person there.

I feel like Ekin Su has been heart broken badly in the past. I think potentially she actually likes Davide more than Jay but needs that outward show of affection and Davide isnt giving it to her which is making her insecurities explode. Jay has come in and is putting in that effort, showering her with compliments/affection. She said it herself to Jay it isnt about looks. When she got upset in the beach hut about the coffee. I feel like that is the real Ekin Su.

Ultimately though if Davide isnt that type of guy then he's not for her. Im not convinced Jay actually is though and believe its all a lot of hot air to save his own skin.

However she should have been honest with Davide when he came over to the fire pit and just pulled the band aid off and not gas lit him.

I feel for Dami. Amber isnt the one for him. I think he's trying his best and I just dont see it. Shes complaining about affection but Im sure Dami has said to the boys he wants to kiss her more and hes not getting the vibes from her. I think it was the tennis date episode this was said?

Andrew, cant tell if hes completely chill because he is chill or because he wants to be able to 'get to know' any potential girls that come in and is biding his time. What do we think?

Yes I can see Amber picking Remi. I don't think she's feeling it with Dami - she always looks disinterested in the bits they show of them together

Hun I totally agree, European men are possessive, controlling and don’t think women are equal. I remember being single in Italy going to this nightclub kissed an Italian man and he stalked me all night 😅😭
 
It's not like Jay is coming in making up stuff just for the hell of it, Tasha REALLY doesn't look into Andrew and it's plain for all to see. So many of the guys piped up when Jay said that aloud on the day bed, so that just goes to show it.
Why do I feel like if he had the chance, Jay would be more into Tasha than ES? He's given that vibe from the food thing yesterday IMO.
Her staring into the distance saying nothing while Andrew was talking just looked like her being pissed people feel that way about her.



She doesn't deserve him being so affectionate and nice and Amber doesn't deserve Dami apologizing and making breakfast. His day bed thing was weird though 😅

I really don't mind Gemma now tbh. I can't believe this. Never say never because every season we do a 180 about somebody or another.
 
Oh Dami 😂 I feel like he intended to scroll across and just join in the convo all casually but neither of them acknowledged him and he’d already committed so couldn’t pretend he was just walking past or anything bless him.
He’s a gentleman who was trying to explain to Amber he wants to take her lead and not force anything on her because deep down he senses that she doesn’t welcome any affection from him but for some reason she seems like she’s disgusted by whatever he says and does. She should just tell him she’s not feeling it and is biding her time waiting for someone else to come in, or leave.

Yeah it seems like he's not wanting to give up at all- like maybe he has the sense that if he just tries hard enough she'll come around. Sadly I don't think that's the case. He's been as nice as he can be but she's not feeling it and not telling him which is her fault, but instead he's apologizing.

I actually think Andrew is really really into Tasha and just personally, I think it would take a girl coming in who was really set on him to make him rethink it. But if that aligned and he knew Tasha's real feelings I think he'd be hurt but he'd move on.

One of the Italian guys I was with used to tell me I needed to go and sit with all the women at any parties or events we went to because we wouldn’t understand what the men were talking about. I’m not joking!

Agree on both points.
With Dami, the more he tries the more icked out she’s going to be. She should be honest instead of using him to get further in the game. There’s only so much eye rolling and grimacing Dami is going to be able to take before it affects his confidence. He’s got too much to offer to be stuck with a bore like her anyway!

I was thinking she looked more interested in Remi than she has with Dami for the past however many days. She really needs to say something because Dami's probably not going to be the one who initiates that convo.

I was ALSO thinking how I'd love an international love island, where even different languages are spoken here and there and/ or not everyone's English is super fluent so there's still differences. It would be so interesting to me to see who would get with who then. THEN personality and culture would have to play into it a lot more. The Italian thing got me thinking, because that's not even as different as it *could* get, y'know?

Honest question then, if that’s your experience of Italian men why did you date more than one, you reference ‘Italian guys’. I’m a child of Italian parents and have spent a great deal of time in Italy, perhaps perhaps perhaps it might be as you describe way back in the day but it’s not the case now. I’m not for a moment disbelieving what you say you just seem to have been unfortunate.
 
I’m not sure you can categorise a whole nation of people based on the actions of some, although understandably that influences your opinions on people from that country.

But then I guess the UK has a reputation that we’re all drunks who like to fight on the streets after football matches… when literally all the guys I know don’t like football 🤷🏻‍♀️
