Genuine question, but what would I need to google? I’m always trying to educate/better myself on racial issues as I grew up in a very white area but I genuinely can’t see anything in those insta comments on the original post that I could see as being related to skin colour!

For the polls tonight - what were the categories? I don’t have the app.

Google along the lines of "what is colourism", plenty of articles about it. We know that the dark-skinned black contestants on the show have a history of being treated poorly (being picked last, rarely being shown, filling the villa with guys being like "my type is blonde hair and blue eyes", black women being ditched in favour of blonde white women, etc) but the light-skinned contestants are treated more favourably. Clarisse saying she'd have been picked on the "outside world" was a dig towards Kaz because she's implying that she is the "preference" as she's a light-skinned woman.

She’s an influencer, I love her, she’s honestly a breath of fresh air. Before Millie went in she only had 6k followers on Instagram and posted about Tara influencing her, so I’m kinda chuffed for Millie not gonna lie, she’s gonna come out to know someone she looks up to wants to be her friend lmao

Colourism is something Clarisse has demonstrated again and again and again with her shady comments and likes. If you want a deep dive - Google is best. Not Tattle (I've been warned)

So I wanted to derail the thread for a second if ye all don't mind and I'm not sure this post will even be read.

But the past 6 weeks on this thread has meant more to me than any of ye could possibly know . I've been in hospital 3 times during the length of Love Island with a chronic illness and getting weekly treatment when I've been physically able to .
My health and mental health has really been at all time low due to being sick. But coming on here a few times a day has helped me no end. And being live on the thread reading ,posting and watching Love Island 🏝 with ye was probably the only thing that has kept me going and made me laugh, really a deep belly laugh many times. Ye lifted my spirits no end...even with posts I may not have agreed with.
Mostly coming on here was the ONLY thing I had to look forward to each day

So thank you to all the gals and guys on this thread

Jake is one of the guys when you see him from afar you think "wow who's that hot guy" then you get closer and "oh, maybe not then" you have the disappointment and realisation then it gets worse when he starts to show his personality and you try to just walk away but his over inflated ego dosent get the hint so he hits up your insta dm's with tit chat and dirty innuendos like "an orgasm a day keeps the worries away" so you block him....

Lol why are you coming for me? Someone asked why something could be seen as colourist and I explained. I'm not asking for a debate on it. Great that Clarisse rates herself but we need to be realistic and think about why she thinks she's better than Kaz. Not everything is an attack ffs.

Sam Gowland from an earlier series put on his insta last night that they are told any talk about being on TV or camera is not shown, and in fairness in previous series i have never heard anyone mention being on TV before. So the fact they showed that speaks volumes to me. I bet he harps on about it all the time.
I've said from day 1 I didn't think he was in to her. She is a stunning girl and really true to herself. She deserves so much more.
