I agree that the producers seem to be pushing Jake & Lib, but I do think some of this is down to Jake being careful to maintain plausible deniability.

Jake said what he said about not fancying Liberty early on so he can claim he grew more attracted to her as he got to know her, and make that part of his character arc.

Since Jake clocked that Liberty was his best route to the final he's been very careful what he's said and done. If it comes out about him egging the others on is Casa Amor he can say he "didn't mean it like that" or that he "was joking and didn't think they'd actually do anything". (Using quotes because I bet he says at least one of these phrases at some point lol).

Jake's left wiggle room for himself whereas Faye outright saying "I don't think Teddy is funny" leaves no room for doubt. Teddy's going to know exactly what she meant by that, as do we at home, and she can't talk her way out of it without coming across as a liar.

I dislike both Jake and Faye and I think they're both playing the role they've decided they want the public to see them as, but I think he's better at saying things in a way that means he can claim he did/didn't mean it depending on how it's received.

I think Kaz loved having two guys fight over her and that’s why she was so pressed when Matthew peaced out. Oh well crack on with Tyler hun, he definitely won’t drop you as soon as you walk into departures.

And Faye can duck off. If Teddy was the one laughing at her then he’d be made out to be an insensitive prick most likely.

And good riddance Hugo.
 
Don't know if this has been posted here but interesting Kaz has received racist comments and it's disgusting that Love Island are completely silent about it, but addressed the threats Chloe received.

This is why people question where the Kaz hate really comes from.

Saw some of the comments left on her insta, they where shocking. We where discussing it earlier.

I dont think Kaz has gotten hate. She acted like a child and treated Matt like tit. She's still well liked but there's no excuse for how she treated Matt.

Literally, if any of the men behaved the way that she has (the whole time to be honest) there would be a furore about abuse and anger management problems. Faye is vile, I didn't like her from the beginning and it's blown my mind how popular she seems to be...being treated badly in the past doesn't justify the behaviour she's displaying, I find it worrying that a lot of people are just writing off as her being 'damaged goods' and therefore it's defensible. This is part of why men are too embarrassed to speak out when they're domestically abused by women, for some reason people don't see it that way? It's bizarre!
 
Teddy has to be the nicest and most handsome islander. I don’t understand Faye at all? If she’s as insecure as she says and has been hurt as bad as she says, why oh why would she go on Love Island and let her emotions play on a national program to be scrutinized by millions. You just wouldn’t right?! So many of us are insecure and have been hurt, but the way she’s behaving is plain nasty and there’s no excuse for it. If it was Teddy doing this to her there would absolute uproar and nobody making excuses. Teddy you are a gem 💎
 
I've been really having the worst time trying to want to keep up with this season. So I skipped around thanks to these threads to I could see the important bits.

I kind of want Abi and Matt to find something in each other but it seems like they're not going to/ they would have by now?
I LOOOOOOVE how he told Kaz straight up what it was, no cussing needed, and just walked off. I clapped loudly in my room.

Watching smug Hugo think he was staying was hilarious.

I cannot believe Faye. Both Jake and her smiled and laughed but she was far far worse with her reaction to the clips of herself. Teddy is genuinely hurt, again taking the high road, but visibly shaken and she's just sat there with her head back she's laughing so hard. What a nasty woman. I stay put so off by her. I keep wanting him to see sense and break it off, but I feel like they'll keep floating back.. UGH.
 
RE Kaz - receiving racist abuse is vile and gross. The people sending it are using what she did as an excuse to be vile cretins and that’s not okay.

However, the whole point of this show is for the general public to have a massive witch about how the islanders behave together. Kaz’s behaviour when Toby got with Chloe was so classy and she became well liked, but her behaviour towards Matt was ugly. She was treating him so badly because she was enjoying the ego trip of having two guys be into her and it’s fair enough for people to say that.

She was saved for a number of weeks in friendship couples because of how well perceived she was, and the public turned on Hugo for the same thing long before they turned on her.

The public’s opinion changing of her doesn’t mean everyone saying it is racist, they’re just doing what they do with every islander - changing their opinion of them based on a single episode and their current behaviour in that episode 😂

My problem with the representation comments are as a white blonde in my 20s (albeit 29 but I’m still clinging on in there) I feel no less “represented” by Kaz than I do Liberty, Faye and any other person in that villa. Her skin colour doesn’t come into it for me.

And on the other hand could you imagine the backlash on Twitter if I was representing only a white female based on their skin colour only? I don’t think it’s an acceptable comment to make either way. I find it a shame that skin colour even comes into it at all.

Totally agree - don’t know why the producers are getting the blame - I’m sure there’s a video for all of the islanders there - it’s Fayes reaction and subsequent behaviour that’s at fault - there was so many other ways she could have reacted and could’ve possibly smoothed things over but she chose sneering , laughing & dismissive- all her own fault . I hope her and her massive baggage of insecurity gets the boot soon .
