I don’t get it, I understand you encourage a kid in their hobbies but she’s simply flogging a dream to Darcy who is entering the world of Ballet very late on. This would be fine if Darcy was prime Darcy Bussell but let’s face it the likelihood is that she’s not. Darcy would probably fare better in drama though again that’s not a given and I see little that convinced me she’d be leading lady material. I think ultimately this is Louise living out her fruitless dreams of dancing, embracing the dance mum lifestyle because she didn’t get chance to embrace her own childhood pursuits.
Completely agree. Definitely living vicariously.

"are you a REAL dance mum if you don't go in Pineapple" - just Louise, showing her privilege, because ofc it's being able to take trips to London, constantly taking posed photos of your child in tutus and dance shops and spending loads of money on expensive dancewear is a fundemental part of being a dance mum, and if you can’t do that, you may as well just pull your kids out of dance class because they don't deserve to be there. 🙄🙄
Do I get bonus points because I'm a dance mum and I also dance myself 🤣🤭

Also in the thumbnail Darcys back leg turn out isn't there. I don't like to bash a kid but just stating facts 🙈

You only get bonus points from Louise if you shop in Pineapple.

I don’t think you’re bashing a kid, she started late and doesn’t have the natural ability some kids have. There are 8 year olds I know who are way ahead in terms of ability than Darcydoodles. And their parents aren’t spanking hundreds of pounds on unnecessary intensive schemes like ballet boost. If she wants Darcy to learn more she’d be better spending that £500 on more private lessons to supplement her regular classes but Louise wants to be able to say her daughter is going an intensive ballet course to make her sound better than she is to people who follow her and know nothing about dance.

I did shop in Pineapple as a teenager many, many years ago haha.
I used to do ballet summer schools but just for some fun. They weren't ones you had to audition for just go along for a week and stay there, do a wee show at the end. They did teach me I didn't want to be a dancer 🤣
It a shame she can't just enjoy dancing and have no pressure instead of being her mums content. Which unfortunately leaves her open to comments.

i was a dance kid from the age of 3-14. it brought me a lot of joy, but that’s all it was. i did exams and got medals & trophies etc and my parents supported it. when i turned 14 and decided my saturdays were better spent hanging around in hmv with my friends, they supported that too. i sort of hope darcy reaches that stage and decides she’s bored of it just to wipe the smugness off louise’s face

Accepted in a London Ballet school! 😐
She is definitely hyping Darcy up! Although, I don’t think that you have to have started ballet at the age of 5 to be good or professional. Darcey Bussell started ballet late, but she is obviously a natural and amazing! They would be better to look at the musical theatre side because she could aim for the ensemble in musicals.
Pearl is great! As wild as I expect a 5 year old to be! 😂
Re the homesickness - you need to go back to therapy Louise.

Omg are you me 😂 exactly the same for myself

I hope she won’t try to guilt trip Darcy when/if she decides to quit. I can picture her making her eyes huge showing the “shock” while keeping her voice calm saying “Oh my sweet love, I mean, ok, if that’s what you really want. It’s fine.” And then boom, Darcy is full of guilt and anxiety. I really hope it won’t happen like that.

The funny thing is, it could actually be Pearlie who could be a dancing star (she has far more personality, does multiple styles of dance and started far younger) but she definitely doesn't put the effort behind her because she's not diamond Doodles.
I thought this! The dance mum reel she made made me think Pearl looks a more ‘natural’ dancer than Darcydoodles

I think the reference visiting the Pineapple store as being the epitome of her own "dance mum" identity very much highlights how much she is living her own unachieved childhood dreams vicariously thru Darcy. she seems to correlate being a "REAL dance mum" with spending extortionate amounts of money on trips to London, summer dance classes, buying elaborate tutus for photoshoots - because creating content from her self-deemed "dance mum" status is a fundamental aspect of her role. Pineapple was a brand of dancewear that used to be super popular, and obvs Louise still perceives it as such, when in actuality, there are probably actually being the current popular brand of dancewear that are way more on trend, and the clothes Darcy wants to wear - yet doesn't feel able to speak up for herself. 🤷🏻‍♂️

i tried to watch the latest vlog, but got bored with the homesick whinging - and also the way she showed a tour of her fancy hotel room, claiming that the smaller twin bed room was perfect as a cheaper option for her and Darcy to spend a few days in London - in comparison to the fancy suite they booked for their recent girl gang sleepover, as though an affordable option wouldn't be staying in a holiday inn! but ofc tha simply isn't of the required standard for Lady Louise. ultimately, from Louise's perspective, being a "REAL dance mum" is about spending money, dressing up, photo shoots and exploiting her daughter's hobby as a way to create content, and form herself a whole new identity. 🙄🙄

and i think many of you are right in terms of Pearlie having far more potential in dance - it's great that both girls seems to enjoy it as a hobby, but Pearl seems to have a sense of inner confidence and boldness that D doesn't, partly because D is so worried about pleasing Louise and getting it "right", with all the pressure placed on her since birth to perform on social media by Louise - but also knowing that her hobby is used as content, thus thousands of total strangers are invested in her dancing, and Louise has made no secret of the fact that she has high expectations for Darcy to succeed in a career in dancing/singing/acting/performing which will push her into focusing on needing it be the best and perfectionism and likely cause anxiety etc, which is not going to make her dance experience a fun or positive one!

Pearl's dancing seems to be more overlooked, at least at the moment, as Louise has already determine that Diamond Darcy will the star - in this situation tho, it will likely work in her benefit, as it allows her to just participate in dance and enjoy it, and she is far more likely to thrive without being fully roped into Louise's "dance mum" identity. Pearl generally refuses to comply with Louise's demands that she pose in tutus etc, thus her priority on content means her focus is on Doodles, who is more malleable and will pose and smile and perform as Louise wants. Pearl started dancing at a younger age, so if it is a hobby she genuinely enjoys, i would imagine she has far more potential, plus her confidence and energy and fiesty personality shines thru in a way that makes her dancing appear more natural, whereas - whilst I don't know enough about technique to comment - Darcy’s dancing comes across as quite rigid and posed, more like she is acting a part than dancing because she truly loves it - Pearl's smiles and facical expressions when she is twirling around radiate genuine happiness, whereas Darcy’s expressions often appear more forced, fake smiles because she knows it's part of the performance, not because it is reflective of her genuine emotion.

it will be sad if Darcy ends up losing her initial passion for dance simply because Louise was so focused on making it such a huge part of her own personality that the risk of it feeling more like a chore, with such expectation that Darcy's dancing creates content for Louise, it takes the fun out of it all, and ruins her hobby for her - all a result of unnecessary pressure and expectations and sharing every moment of her dancing on IG for the world to see etc, so that even if she no longer enjoys it she will likely still feel she has to continue with it because Louise won't want to give up her "dance mum" content. 😔
