One of the biggest issues I have is this whole thing where people think xyz is empowering when it's not, just because Lizzie is showing her nipple that is not empowering or doing anything that goes against the grain. She's a wealthy thin white woman which we all know but for her and her fans to act like oh wow look at her she's showing nip that goes against society's standards when it bleeping doesn't at all lol. Like she is what society deems as ok to do things like that, her showing her nipple isn't empowering it's just bleeping stupid. Also like my other issue with her and her ilk is that they're supposed to be fashion forward and fashion influencers yet they're so boring, like you can find amazing items yet you're choosing the ugliest, beigest, awful looking outfits because you think you're a model and can pull it off when in reality she's not ever wearing the clothes, the clothes are wearing her and that's not really a good look.

You are right, but you see, we have some things in common… For example, Art History had always been my dream degree, but I had to choose something else because I needed a job that would pay, and it annoys me at how easy it was for her because she is rich 😒 A lot of people would be “artsy” if they did not have to be working difficult or boring jobs to provide for themselves and their families.

This is why when people say money isn’t everything I roll my eyes. Money buys you freedom, time, and choices.

Sorry for the off topic jump, but since I haven't encountered someone who would not like Leandra (apart from people on reddit who immediately jumped onto how her husband is cheating her) could you share your opinion? (If it's okay with you, ofc.)

I think it mostly comes down to how monumentally self-centered she is. You can sense it in her overwrought writing style, her self-deprecating humor (which doesn't land, because thanks to her enormous wealth and privilege, she'll always be in the position of power), her obsession with her image (hello, unaddressed eating disorder), and if you listen to that podcast episode, her failure to sincerely take accountability for anything. The conversation always turns into a navel-gazing ramble that revolves around her thoughts and feelings. And for all her words about how she's aware of her privilege, you can tell she is still so very out of touch. I wanted to throw my phone at the part when she had a "revelation" that she grew up rich. How great for you, Leandra, even though the entire world always knew this. Even though the only way she was able to build her business was because her wealth and connections opened crucial inroads to the fashion community. Otherwise, she'd just be another blogger writing about fashion in her spare time.

Anyways, thanks for allowing me to go on this tangent. (And thanks @poopettemetis for the tip on that podcast!)

Leandra had received quite a bit of backlash over the years, often a combination of white privilege and not handling BLM* well and her team not being inclusive at all. She has had to take quite some time off the internet after that. But most criticism has been about how she handles her ED online.

And then there was also that time where she was trying to conceive for years and lashed out at people who were happy with their pregnancy (don’t remember exactly what happened, but I do remember she had to publicly apologise). For me personally, I did like her at first, but eventually it was more of the same to me. I know nothing about husbands cheating.

I do still follow one of her former team members Haley Nahman. But she has has gone full geek in her fashion looks these days. She used to be friends with Chelseawears, but it seems that they either lost touch or fell out. Have always been curious what happened there.

Anyway, back to L & L.

*just realised that is what the podcast is about

What are the rules for Brits traveling to Italy? Or what were they last month? Not to be that person, but kind of annoying she took a flight with her mom who she doesn’t live with to see relatives they don’t live with, and I, living in Canada, haven’t seen my parents who live in the US 3 hours away.

Think they need to quarantine for 10 days upon return and do some test in between the 10 days. She never obey the rules anyway, one rule for them another rule for us

The reason why she kept it private is just so that we don’t track her movement because she never self isolate for 10 days.
