I expect Liz only told us about her sports day elimination in case Marstonroadmrs got in there first and told us before she did. La honte! I bet she sobbed over it when she got home. She doesn’t like to lose. And all those dads she thought she’d impress and didn’t. She probably went fully prepared with no underwear on too. Shame.

Well, as a MOTHER of just two and just TWO MOTHS from 39, I didn't even qualify to attend sports day. You could say I dodge-balled a bullet!

You see, I'm still an amateur MOTHER/ATHLETE/NOTHING, working "9 to 5, what a way to make a living," to fund my sporting endeavours.

I'm not sponsored by the Bank of Mum and Dad, but my kids do have the wealth that comes with having parents who fight over Scrabble instead of them. As they say, you can’t win them all!

It’s not the private school she’s accustomed to, where her three abandoned children were enrolled.

She must have been horrified to learn that at this school for the proletariat, many parents are employed and therefore not always available to focus their attention, quite literally, on her flaps, flapping.

For 14 years, Liz’s barely contained jealousy has simmered. It wouldn’t be surprising if her resentment towards her daughters played a role in her decision to leave them and start a new life with the husband of her MUCH younger friend.

The comments are spot on. Her daughter looked her age so I don’t imagine she was getting gawped at in the street. I’m not sure what the point of the piece was at all - actually I do - it’s the usual compliment-fishing exercise. And so it continues years later…
