Also Italian trattorias - if she joins them for lunch- which would be EXTRAORDINARILY rude not to on a retreat…. are typically relaxed, very busy and go at their own pace. If you’re in the middle of a retreat you’re probably better off block booking higher end restaurants so you can be calmly sat and served ( considering the busy action packed retreat day 😉) because otherwise a lunch could easily eat a whole afternoon by waiting for your table, slow busy service, coffees etc.

Liz, as we know you are reading this, you CANNOT take paying guests for a tramezzino ham sandwich 🥪 on the lido.

they will OBVIOUSLY also be expecting delicious Italian cuisine ! Please don’t go for runs in the middle of lunch leaving them in the lurch in a foreign country having to stick to a random ‘timetable’

Out of curiosity I looked up the dictionary definition of 'retreat' and really, she's called it totally the wrong thing:

  1. a quiet or secluded place in which one can rest and relax:
    "their country retreat in Ireland"
    • a period or place of seclusion for the purposes of prayer and meditation:
"the bishop is away on his annual retreat" · "before his ordination he went into retreat"

Goodness, me, that's remarkable!! What a lovely testimonial as you so rightly say! 'Like being with a best friend!!!!'
Mind you, that poor Italian violinist looks terrified. Probably waiting for her to rush up to him screeching mid performance.

If she has had flu for five days then she had it while doing her retreat on Thursday (which would be day one if today is day five) Nice for the clients to get the germs thrown in. Also I doubt it is flu as actual flu is a very nasty illness which means you can’t get out of bed let alone waltz round Oxford being a best friend teacher. A heavy cold is not the same thing at all.

Just what I thought!

I don’t think she’s got flu. I don’t think she liked it being pointed out last week on here that she looked rough, so she’s probably lying to account for it. When you make as many silly videos as she does or ‘face to camera’ as she calls it, it should be pretty obvious when you speak if you have flu. No flu!

Claiming to have flu is the perfect excuse for a less than great performance hosting a workshop. Also would account for any negative reviews. Or a complete absence of reviews. And as for the sick small human reference…could she be building up to a retreat cancellation?

She does look pretty unwell in that reel, to be fair. But I expect we'll soon be seeing loads of shots of her gazing up at the sun. I think she'll go ahead with the workshops because she likes to be centre of attention.

Yes but if she had had actual flu on Thursday she would not have been able to move let alone zip round Oxford with her ‘class’. Not to say a nasty cold can’t make you feel or look awful too but people throw the word ‘flu’ around for anything from the sniffles upwards and the real thing knocks you out completely so you can barely get out of bed
Oh yes, I can indeed see it's not Actual Flu. But she looks like she has a bad cold.
