I thought this when Leigh-Anne said she’s been in the business for 12 years, she doesn’t need guidance.

But how celebrities promoted things and interacted with fans 12 years ago, even 5 years ago was a bit cringe when you look at it from today’s perspective. It seems like they’ve never really progressed from that

That's interesting because I was watching no more sad songs today and they all looked absolutely stunning and confident, but I couldn't help but cringe thinking how bad their solo stuff has gone thus far.
Kind of makes you realise how curated the band was and how individually they don't really know what they're doing! (Of course this could change...!)
 
At least the girls are still friends (bar Jesy) so if their solo careers flop they can always just bring the group back. I like them a lot, they’re talented and beautiful but i can’t see any of them being super successful as solo artists tbh but maybe they don’t care about that.

I’m excited to hear Perrie’s new music. Does Jade have any music lined up?

Jade’s been recording a lot, I think like Perrie has made clear she isn’t releasing anything until her album’s done, so they should both have a clearer roll out than Leigh’s had (and I guess Jesy if you can even call that a rollout).
 
What happens with Leigh and an album? I don't understand how it all works, because she's tanked will she just never get an album and keep making tit singles forever? If Perrie already has an album ready, will the same thing happen if her singles don't do well? Like it won't ever be released?

Usually a label slowly releases funds for an album to be made, so they can keep tabs on what’s going on and control spend, so it’s positive sign that Perrie and Jade have been able to see their albums through without releasing anything. I’ve heard they both have sizeable marketing budgets secured with Sony too.

Tbh it really depends on if a label can see a return on investment by going through with the release on a case-by-case basis. You could have two artists who each have 3 top 20 songs signed to two different labels, and one will get their album put out, the other will have it shelved and be lined up for collabs until a hit comes along. Also, what we see as a flop they might see as okay or vice-versa, they’ll have their own benchmarks set.

I will say that Jade and Perrie face a lot more competition, everyone and their nan is releasing music this year.
 
Perrie had a press event last night where she played 6 songs for media people (official charts, buzzfeed, the guardian etc.) and all seems positive so far, seems like her album’s pretty much done to be playing album tracks for people. I guess they’re trying to gather support early.

Not inviting anyone with a subjective opinion though, Michael Cragg is the biggest sycophant out there 🤣
