LOL it's probably me , every time the camera is on her she always seems like she is doing something she shouldn't, she is always at her desk watching everything looking uneasy , could be the character and mercurios way of always getting the viewer to be unsure of her motives

Apparently in the scene when Dot was dying , the dying declaration she recorded changes and Kate says something different when the audio is played back , once for Hastings and then she changes words in the second time it's heard in the interrogation, she is also seen constantly facing away from the coppers body cam when asking Dot the questions, so could she have edited two copies for different situations, could be nothing of course , but I'm never sure I trust her 100%

you might enjoy it more tbh, ive watched this first episode twice and i am tying myself in knots , had i not know the background it might well have been a better watch, trying to work everything out to past episodes is fun for a while but there are so many references to different episodes that it just gets impossible, as someone else said ive watched all the episodes twice over in every series and i remember very little, it takes someone on here to point something out then it triggers stuff off

I say watch it as a standalone drama , little things as to why Steve is addicted to pain killers or little things about the main characters just ask (y)

I know a lot of people are saying this but I think there needed to be a less hectic approach to the first episode because of how it all got left and being able to establish what was going on with everyone.

Hopefully it was just a more sedate first episode and the rest is more in line with what we're used to. There are seven episodes in this series too so maybe it's almost like a filler episode to bridge the gap in action.

Absolutely agree - and I have plenty of theories from just one episode. Maybe this series is going to be more of a slow burner, or maybe a sedate first episode so Jed can put us through the ringer for the 2nd episode.

It’s still the best thing on TV and I almost like how it takes us back to the days when we couldn’t binge watch programmes and had to wait!

I have faith in Jed. He's proven he knows what he's doing, he knows the enormity of Line of Duty, and he knows how invested people have become.

Going to try this on Sunday 😂 I always go straight to bed and then just lay there with thoughts swimming around my brain hahaha. Makes me glad I never watched Luther live on tv, I still think about some of the episodes now 🤣
 
So glad there’s such a good thread on LOD! Can highly recommend the Shrine of Duty podcast and the BBC one which is vastly improved now that the actor who played Dot is presenting. I definitely think Kate is already undercover but in plain sight - as she is already known to Buckles (that incompetent fool!) she isn't using an assumed name. Also think that one of the young lads involved in the robbery at the bookies will be linked someho.
 
I’m lost why are people saying Buckells could be the caddy, I thought Dot was already revealed to be the caddy?

if you watch the youtube channels on LOD , they will blow your mind , the amount of time people put into theories is frightening

This is my favourite , H isnt a character, H is the OCGs chain of command, so the four points of the H is for four caddies, and the line in the middle is the top person, at first it makes no sense, but then the 10 minute theory ends and you come away thinking its all true, then you watch another theory and that becomes the one that fits :D , they are almost as good as the program
