Oh well I thought that was the point, as in it’s clear she’s involved because you wouldn’t be able to see the plate and there was also nothing else that was suspicious. Also, who is Ross Turner?! Feel he will come into it at some point
Yes sorry that’s what I mean. She’s clearly involved with the distraction. And so obvs was a diversion. I was posing the question as if how would she expect that they would believe she really saw anything when there was nothing to see. Perhaps the diversion was so the real “Ross Turner” could get out the flat and they could move the freezer which had clearly been used to store dead bodies before.

I think I've realised the episode seemed a bit weird last night because barely any of it was filmed in AC-12. I was kind of waiting for that OMG ending we usually get after the first episode that keeps everyone talking for a week. Don't think they'll top S3 for me but it'll still be my fav programme ever regardless. Can't believe that series was on BBC2 on a Thursday. It was so robbed of the primetime Sunday night slot.

Top Gear is doing my head in. Get LOD on!!

Couldnt you just twit those three?

I was really bored but clearly I missed the Terry thing. Anyone give me a numpty’s guide please?
Terry has been in since series one. All the local tit used to use his flat to shag and take drugs. The ocg killed a woman cut her in half and stuck her in a freezer. However, they had to move her so in their wisdom decide to take advantage of poor Terry's nice nature and stick the body in his domestic Indesit. Was discovered in series 5 I think. To me, that was the daftest storyline on so many levels. I mean can you imagine the poor bugger fancying an ice pop going to the freezer and coming face to face with that! My bloody freezer couldn't keep a couple of burgers frozen for that long never mind a full-grown woman:oops:

I thought I was being thick and should have known what it meant!
Its just a posh name for coppers nark

Does anyone else feel like they have no clue what the bloody hell is going on yet? I feel like I need to rewatch it again to pick everything up.

So it's Terry from series 1, Mr Waistcoat is addicted to pain and wants to leave and get back with that old girlfriend of his (did he ever sort out his erectile dysfunction?), Kate has jumped ship, Ted looks strained... how the hell did Buckles rise so high up? I hate that bloke, he's such a wet wipe.

That Farida girl strikes me as a bit mental. I reckon she'll be a major player in bringing the DCI down.

I loved the bit where DCI was pressuring the guy to give his chis up and asks "Is the word ma'am in your vocab?" and he goes "No. Ma'am" really sassy like 🤣
I wondered how Buckells has managed to get so high up as well  being such a wet wipe. However I do find him strangely attractive;)

I loved it. Good to see Terry is ok (although in it up to his neck). Was yelling at the tv that he had the body in the freezer!

I think the slowish start that another posted referred to really represented Steve and Ted not being happy, things being slow in AC12. Soon picked up though - that stop to sort out the armed robbery and the flat not being covered for 3 1/2 hours was dodgy.
Please don't think for one minute he is safe. As soon as his brief said they were putting him somewhere safe I thought Uhh Ohh!

Clutching at straws here. Do you think Jo and Tommy are related?
Yes I do cos they are both Scottish :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Couple of things....

Martin doesn't suit a beard
Is Kate going to get it on with Davies?
Rumour has it she is going to shag the sergeant Chris.

Doe
His erectile dysfunction is getting him down
As opposed to up??

Well, I just watched the first episode and I have got to say I’m disappointed. I got bored half way through, I’m hoping they are just easing us in and then going to give it in true line of duty style next week!
I think this is the problem of watching 1 episode a week. If you had episode 2 and 3 watched straight after then you would not have realised or analysed the episode as much.

I'm rewatching.

Firstly (and most importantly) how does Kelly mcdonald look like she hasn't really aged since trainspotting??

I think the distraction theory is too obvious. There is no way that she would notice anything was wrong. It was just a van outside a bookies, no one would look at that and think ah! An armed robbery!! If she wanted a "proper distraction" a fight with weapons in that side street (threat to life so had to stop) or something more obvious to grab ppls attention when they are driving pass. She is clearly a clever woman to get to her rank, and she would know that questions would be asked starightaway as to why her suspicions would be raised on absolutely nothing. And raised enough to stop the plan of going to arrest a dangerous criminal.

I don't really feel like that reads particularly well 😕

One of the suspects in the bookies had an Irish surname, kilogran. Could be a link somewhere?

What was this about? Hope this wasn’t the same “Sarge” as in the CHIS handler from moments before.

Found it suspicious that Kate got to stop at the robbery scene and therefore was out the way of the flat?! Unless I’ve got that wrapped round my neck 🤣
Buckells is such a fanny: a bad apple who keeps popping up 🙄
Liked the new lady Chloe so far as well but AC12 feels like it’s got no soul without Fleming.
One thing I’ve learnt from my rewatches is that when you watch back a lot of things are super obvious when you know the outcome: both Dot and Jill for example. Jed is just a wizard and distracts us with the series narrative so we forget the overarching longer term plot...
Overall enjoyed and a good scene setter.

I think there was a scene maybe last series where someone opened the fridge and she was still in there🙈 so maybe not discovered. They did use poor Terry, I remember that Ryan pissing in his flat, and they used to beat him. I was willing him to say in his interviews!
Jackie’s body was found along with John Corbetts and the at the end of the last series (ep5 or 6 I think).

I think she had assumed it was a getaway car because it had a fake number plate. That’s what Kate said in the back of the car she had said it’s just a fake plate
This is what annoys me , ive watched it back a few times and you literally see nothing, i was expecting that watching it back knowing she saw something happen that if you looked closely we could see it,but nothing, so the writing becomes a bit sloppy because we now have to now either believe that her brain works like the matrix and can see stuff we cant or that they are pushing us into believing that bit was her stalling and it was set up, which i'm not keen on, i dont like being pushed into a certain corner by the writer, especially on LOD where bluff and double bluffs happen, as good as it is, they some times add a few things where it would be better if they went with the less is more approach.

It’s also really bugging me that everyone on Twitter was like ‘what does CHIS mean? lol’ when I’m sure they’ve used that acronym in past series?
My husband says they haven’t which is annoying, but I’ve definitely heard it before. Not repeatedly like it was in this episode but they’ve definitely said it, I just can’t remember which season/episode. Also in context it was pretty obvious what it meant, even if you didn’t know what the exact acronym stood for. 🙄
I'm sure it's been used in other series as well!
