They have all been building this up so much, but the show’s own hype ran away with it.. I wonder if they feel embarrassed. Imagine the backlash they’re gonna get.

I can’t understand it either because Fairbank was brought into it again. They literally didn’t need that scene at all. Just felt like a way of filling the episode so it would actually be an hour. Just to give us the crap ending of Buckells.

I think ted outed himself to Carmichael more to stop viewers speculating Hastings is bent. Maybe. Also now he has admitted his failure to Carmichael, her failure to act means she could subject herself to disciplinary action. I think ted is trying to show Carmichael the job isn’t black and white. The waters are easily muddied and her strict observance to processes and relying on the system to sort things out, won’t work. She needs to be actively against corruption!!!
