Right I'm bored, so please see my OTT mind working overtime because I've got two more sleeps til episode 4
The BBC (and Radio Times) both say this for episode 4:
"DCI Jo Davidson faces increasing pressure from all sides as AC-12 make major breakthroughs in the investigation, but an attempt to interview a key witness goes horribly wrong."
So, it does hint at there being something very explosive happening in episode 4 but doesn't exactly spell out 'SOMEONE IMPORTANT IS DEAD'. By looking at the billing (although I'm not sure whether every cast member would be listed) Terry is not listed, and he is who my mind automatically went to when I saw 'key witness' but, interestingly, Ferida is on there... so when an interview goes 'horribly wrong' is she the key witness and are we going to get a gruesome death? Farida is also listed 5th on the billing, which on the BBC is usually an indication of their importance in the episode, so it certainly hints that she will play a bigger role in episode 4. She isn't billed on Radio Times though, which is perhaps a red herring but maybe she does die and that's why she wasn't included?
BBC for episode 5 (and Radio Times) states:
"AC-12 link Gail Vella’s murder with a historic case of police corruption, and Kate hatches a plan to tell once and for all if Jo is bent. They are closer than ever to cracking the case, but when Hastings’ authority is undermined it leaves his team in a potentially dangerous situation."
This is what makes me believe that it cannot be either Kate or Ted who dies, as both seemingly play larger roles in episode 5. Additionally rules out Jo's early demise. What scares me is that it doesn't rule out Steve, but he is billed second on the BBC website and Radio Times; the sceptic in me says this is because if they took Martin Compston off the billing we'd be like 'StEvE'S dEaD' before we've even seen it. Also, Buckells is billed for episode 4, but not episode 5 - could he be the key witness whose interview goes 'horribly wrong'? Could he have an 'Urgent Exit Required' moment? I know that everyone connected to the show is citing this as the most exciting episode
ever, but the last time LoD had me like that was s3 ep6 and that wasn't one of the Holy Trinity dying... it was Dot. Realistically, I'm just clinging onto straws praying to the Lords of Line of Duty (aka Jed Mecurio) to not kill off my boy Steve before I've seen him smile again.
