What on earth is it that she doesn’t have time for because of kids? They have money for all the childcare during the day and babysitters during the evening. So how is Vlogmas ruined then? Just say you don’t want to do it because it’s dawning on you that you peaked in your 20s.

I think the main reasons for her not doing it are:

1) it would expose how little she "works" in a day to both viewers and the people in her life who I'm sure she lies to about it
2) she would have to actually plan some activities to make it interesting which she can't be arsed to
3) and the biggest deal breaker is surely that she wouldn't have 24 sponsorships lined up, so a lot of vlogs would be "organic" content she'd do for "free" (adsense isn't much these days)

Social media has really ruined tradition. Like it used to be a family tradition came about organically and you just kept doing it for whatever reason. But now that everything is a trend or every year there's some new way to spend money/buy something you don't need/show off your lifestyle, it's all so forced. If you don't want to do Elf on a Shelf with your kid, don't. I agree, kids do have to learn that sometimes you don't have to have what it seems like every other kid has (especially in this day and age), but don't just say "we're not doing this". Explain that your family has different traditions or you celebrate in your own way and that's okay too and what makes your celebrations your own. The fact Lily didn't think to tell her kids they don't need EOAS because they're "good" kids and don't need to be watched, is concerning though

I'm not mad about her trying to reuse that oven toy. Obviously she wants to reuse it because she refuses to pay for a new one, but I would reuse it because IT'S PLASTIC AND WASTEFUL AND RUINING THE PLANET.

yep, and then she will badmouth it in front of her daughter, ruining every fun she might have had with it. When she did after they got invited to see Frozen, Lily was like „oh, and Grey agrees with me“. What’s the kid to do, Lily, have her own opinion against a mother who whines about everything??
