Weird thought, maybe ask your kid what colour he wants his room and take him paint shopping. That’s what we did with ours, clearly we gave them some of our choices or I’d have ended up with a neon pink room!! But let kids get involved. She is so simple
Lily is terrified of her kids‘ choices not aligning with her aesthetic vision. That goes for everything, kids‘ room decor, birthday presents etc. She asks strangers, so she can choose answers that confirm her own preferences and usually goes with those.
 
I just don't think kids rooms need that much thought... I understand wanting a neutral colour as I personally don't have the means to be decorating every few years so want something with longevity (ie not a theme they will grow out of in 12-18 months) But for a kids room you want something a little jolly don't you? Like someone above said let kids choose bedding and then choose a colour to co-ordinate. Doesn't have to be anything garish but give them a little say in it all.
