Sometimes when I take my child swimming I'd rather not get my hair wet.

But if she asks me to swim under water with her or 'play dunking', I just do it. Her enjoyment is much more important than needing an extra hair wash.

It's called being a parent and putting your children first.

I guess noone told her...
 
Ugh just watched it! We did parent in the pool swimming lessons and it is annoying because you have the hassle of getting changed and at the same time you don't actually swim, you just stand about.... but it's really not a big deal! It's just what you do when you're parent, and it's such a short amount of time.

What hacks is she is expecting?
 
so a woman who's been claiming to love her body jiggle bits and all and who has finally found herself after having kids, is unable to change in the dressing room? 😐 like i said before, she can make how many "omg i'm finally me again" posts as she wants, but if your body issues are interfering with your and your children's lives, then you should really sort them out – not to mention that kids will 100% notice it, my first memory of my grandma is her constantly complaining about being too fat while being a french size 36

also, her hair looks awful all the time, i don't think getting it wet will make any drastic difference 💀

I was most distracted by her forehead lines they are so deep, they fold up like pug skin. 😒

also, if it is such a pain with the whole swimming, wait til he is 3 which is just a couple months away.

Couldn't like this more! Both my mother and my mother-in-law make frequent comments about their body (my MIL) and other people's bodies (my mother) in front of my kids despite me asking them not to do so, I hate it - like you say kids will be aware of this even at a young age!

Exactly! I’m afraid once kids come along, your own needs go to the bottom of the list. For most parents anyway. She’s pretty vile isn’t she.

Lily, your tick box children need you to do better, and to stop complaining about them on social media. And to not give a shit about getting your hair wet.
So many of us would love to be in your shoes, with two happy and healthy children, and the means to take them to swimming lessons. You have NO idea how lucky you are, you ungrateful &^%&(.
 
I never get the whole I’m on my period so can’t swim. So many menstrual products are fine in the pool. Why does she make everything so difficult. And if you don’t want to get your hair just wear a swim cap. It’s not a fashion show. What a knob.
I remember growing up my parents never took me swimming. I’d go with my friend and her dad taught me to swim. Makes me sad my parents never made the effort. Do better Lily as your kids do and will remember how much you are resenting motherhood.

i get it – some people have an extremely heavy flow that would soak even through products marked for it, they can suffer from cramps and other symptoms that would make swimming a highly unpleasant experience (i for instance used to get a fever and faint 🤩), some are more prone to UTIs during that time – however i think lily's just trying to spin the narrative not to look like a total arse (which she still does)

We have to wear swimming hats in Ireland like you won’t be allowed into the pool without one. Is it not the same in the UK? I can’t fathom how thick this idiot is. What genius hack does she expect people to give her? Every parent finds swimming lessons a chore but you just grin and bare it ffs
