Baby gate story translation:

“I know loads of you will be shopping on the John Lewis* website as we approach Christmas, so I’m going to go ahead and place an affiliate link to get as many of you to place a cookie on your browser as possible. That way, when you do your Christmas shopping over the next six weeks, I will receive a percentage of your money for doing nothing! Happy Christmas to meee!” 🤑🤑🤑

*I’m NOT swiping up, but I’m gonna assume it’s a link to John Lewis, as my SIL has the same baby gate, and hers was from there.

How is this even legal? It really pisses me off. I understand for the specific product they link but the fact that it affects the whole website and for months... it's just not fair is it? Why would any blogger take a percentage of the drying rack I bought as a necessity because two months ago I swiped up on a jumper they posted? I know this is not necessarily their fault (I don't think any of them actually invented the concept of AF links) but then they wonder why so many people hate their industry... they just take advantage of everything while doing the bare minimum.

Totally. I think a newspaper ought to do an article about it. Is like a sales girl takes commissions of the thing she didn’t promote.

Also she never show us the baby gate before so who are these phantom? She is so unbearable.

Lily is so annoying! Listening to the podcast and Anna brings up how she started knitting. Lily said she used to knit in her 20s and it was really relaxing but she doesn't have time now. But recommends it if you're single!!! Wtf? why does she say these things? I feel really sorry for her because she obviously thinks she is busiest person alive. She watches tonnes of tv, I knit and that's when I do it - in front of the tv.

No way!!!! How is it a single person thing. I know, in her mind, single person= failure. The reason why she went you uni is to find a husband. Zzzz

Yeah lol I didn't get that bit. I am a keen knitter too, and I'm a full time student with society and work commitments on top of that. I knit on an evening whilst watching TV (currently working my way through Buffy!) because it's a way for me to decompress before bed. Maybe Lily should try doing something like that again and she might stop being such an arse.

Lily doesn't have time to hold a pair of knitting needles when she has her phone in her mitts for 8+ hours a day

Lily isn't intellectual enough to be a teacher. She woudn't even have a subject specialism. Quite grating that the government is affording money to support podcast advertising/their affluent lifestyles but won't pay for most teacher training bursaries next year.
IKR, do a proper outreach than to advertise on their platform.

WOW, https://tattle.life/threads/influencers-and-covid-19.5149/page-16 #316 so someone did a freedom of information act request to ask how much influencers get paid promoting NHS Covid testing. I find it grating too that teacher, nurse etc don't get paid properly and yet influencers are getting paid to write a few nonsense with tax payer money!
