ivys there for content, she could have stayed home with daddy. And gone to school
I know parents at my kids school have asked for work to be set when they take the kids out of school for holidays, and quite rightly the school refuse to do it. Why should they?! They are providing an education for your kids in school all day, every day. You just have to make sure they turn up to benefit from it!

I'm guessing it works out as 5 days as the person in charge of the 'home schooling' while they are away on repeated trips, ie Kerry, has a very limited grasp of maths

That’s mind boggling! I wouldn’t /can’t spend that much for 4 adults for two weeks in the summer for our only holiday, nevermind a last minute getaway! Mind you I suppose it’s the only holiday she does pay for! What will happen if this influencer culture comes crashing down and the freebies dry up…ivy will become more of a brat when she doesn’t get all the clothes holidays weekends away day trips etc etc

How is it that some schools fine and others don’t? I thought it was a blanket rule - for regular state schools anyway. That seems unfair in itself.
BS about 10 max days off school in a year - what utter rubbish. So she reckons that from now until mid July she’ll only miss another 5 days of school … I doubt that very much! In fact did she miss a few days at the start of January?!

It’ll only be a matter of time before they start fining. The government’s new thing is really pushing attendance. But with the money she has and spends the fine is a drop in the ocean for her.

She missing the point- it’s not Ivy that is at the disadvantage, it’s the other kids and the teacher. And she probably only went up 2 levels cos she was either off sick or on holiday and the teachers thought I’m not getting her up to speed.
