I don’t think that they pretend to be anything other than they are. It is quite clear where individual presenters are coming from and there is a mix of views, some left of centre, some centrist and some right of centre. You will never get a perfect balance but it certainly is not a left biased channel. If you want bias you don’t have to look much further than GB News, the Daily Mail, Daily Express, Daily Telegraph, The Spectator etc. I don’t think it would take much research either to realise that the media in this country is strongly skewed towards right wing politics.

This is how I view the current bunch of presenters ...

Ferrari = right of centre
O'Brien = left of centre
Fogerty = centrist
Swarbrick = centrist
Marr = don't know
Dale = right of centre
Kentish = centrist
Spurr = right of centre
Payne = world of his own.

Abbot = left of centre
Wright = left of centre
Myska = left of centre
Devon = left of centre
Dugmoor = left of centre
Bull = centrist
Lammy = shouldn't be there
Johnson = centrist
Miraj = right of centre.
Vorderman = left of centre

In all, especially at the weeknd, the left dominate IMO.

Marr has said he wants a Labour government and a couple of listens to his introductory monologues leaves you in no doubt where his politics are

Dale is so wet these days, he barely counts as right

Add in Lewis Goodall, once a Labour party activist and any semblance of balance is seen to be a charade

A pity we can't chuck in the dreaded Maits and Soaps

What's the percentage do you think? The percent of callers to LBC who are critical-thinkers, not necessarily degree-educated. I don't think having further education relates to intelligence, but it helps. I'm 'putting it out there' but the vast majority of callers LBC put on air are, to coin a phrase 'thick as tit'.

The ultimate scenario for LBC is that they have zero callers. LBC just wants so-called 'personalities' or as I would them, 'people with personality disorders'. Can you even imagine the psychopathy of a person who just sits there talking into a microphone? Worse, into a camera. It's bleeping weird. It's weird at least to me, weird in the way when you hear your own voice. These people are bleeping odd. Yet they are somehow feted by some people.

Carol Vorderman has crashed and burned on X

She's quite a tragic, needy, desperate old windbag. A per my previous post, no person with critical-thinking skills pays a blind bit of notice to whatever she says or sells. I wonder how many of her social media posts are created after a glass of wine or three? Her radio-voice is even worse, it's like listening to a sack of hammers scraped down a blackboard with Daniel O'Donnell played at the same time but at half-speed. :(

Woke at 5.45 expecting listed Ian Payne and it was Clive Bull, filling in for an extra two hours until Matthew Wright arrived at 6.00. Hope Ian's OK. Surprised to find MW quite bearable when he's not doing his leftie ranting. Lovely to hear Clive, who I haven't heard for years.

Hearing Clive, and then having MW talking about squatters reminded of one of Clive's longest regular callers, Rainbow George.

Thanks for the memory. I was just thinking about "Jean" and an Irish guy called "Dermot" who sounded exactly like the hapless builder in Fawlty Towers. :)

Much as it pains me to admit this, I enjoyed Matthew Wright's show this morning. Perhaps it was because there wasn't much 'heavy' news content, or he was cheered by the prospect of an extra hour's pay, but he was quite affable.

Absent mindedly switched on at 1.45pm and it was Myska asking should the UK have got involved in defending Israel against the drones and missiles fired by Iran.

Our jets may have saved some Jewish people being killed, seems that's a problem for Myska. The positions the left contort themselves beggars belief. Landis on the dark side is gleefully posting that according to wikipedia only 700 innocent jews were massacred on October 7th

Myska is now twisting the narrative to elicit sympathy for the scum ruining Gordon Ramsey's restaurant

From the several years I spent on what is now the dark side I can assure you of this.

The more sure Landis is about something the more likely it is to be wrong.

Such a London-centric non-story to me, obviously because a 'celebrity' is invovled it ticks some sort of box and has to be covered. :rolleyes: I think I must have listened to a total of 15 minutes of LBC this week. 15 minutes too much.

I don't think it's a London centric non story. It may have happened in London and it maybe owned by a celebrity but it does highlight how ridiculous the trespass laws are in this country. He will not only be paying his rent, he will also have to pay legal fees to get them removed and then it will cost him again to fix the premises so he can reopen his business. How can that be a non story? It happens all over the country and because it's a commercial premises it's all fine and not illegal. Makes me sick. Not everyone who this happens to have GR funds and resources.

I think it's a non-story. That's all.
