I find Rachel a good listen, always fair and balanced. We shouldn't blame her for her brother's sins, none of us can choose our families. And don't forget, the other brother, Joe, resigned from government and I believe also stepped down as an MP when Boris became party leader. Boris's siblings appear to have scruples missing in he who would be king...

Yeah I suppose I should give her another chance. I went right off her when she called-in once, stuck in the Mont Blanc Tunnel due to traffic, moaning like nobodies business that it was going to ruin her skiing holiday. I mean, really? Talk about entitled.

Oooh I don't know, she had a phone in about the covid enquiry and she was really rude to anyone who criticised her brother and cut them off!

He didn't turn down a seat in the HoL when Boris elevated him. He's Lord Johnson of Marylebone. 😉

Good point Maggie, I'd forgotten that.

I've never personally heard Rachel Johnson be rude to callers or cut them off, quite the reverse in fact.

I'm a bit indifferent to Rachel but that call shows how inexperienced she is.

Anyone else would have immediately told them don't name the politician and kept their hand on the cutoff button. With the delay they shouldn't have ever broadcast the name.

Spot on Yel. The call should have been cut sooner. Libel's an expensive game

I don’t half miss Steve in the run up to Xmas. Oli Dugmore is a wet wipe and Ian Payne in the arse 🥴

I don’t know who was enlisted with ruining both LBC and Talk, but they’ve succeeded. I would have Petrie on at night, wake up to Steve and enjoyed the Julia then Mike format. Kev on weekends, and Maajid (controversial to some). Now they’re wastelands.

All of those you are talking about all have personalities. Love them or loath them at least they have something about them. The current batch of presenters at LBC, bar Ferrari and O'Brien, are as bland as they come. Just wall to wall blandness. There's a reason why we mainly talk about Ferrari and O'Brien on the forums and no one else. It's because everyone else is so bloody boring and wet.

I cautiously dipped a toe into the LBC waters today. Ferrari his usual blustery self and O'Brien was being his usual pompous arse. Didn't last too long with James. He was talking to a caller and the caller was trying to explain his answer and James was having non of it. I turned off when the caller tried to interrupt James and James said 'let me speak' when he hadn't given the caller a proper chance to explain his thinking. I think the caller was trying to say he still supported Israel's underlying cause but wanted IDF soldiers who had committed war crimes dealt with.

I do get annoyed when presenters do that 'it's a simple yes or no' thing when obviously it isn't. James isn't the only one who does it but he is one of the main culprits.

Tom Swarbrick is the Naga Munchetty of LBC. More suited to a career as a solicitor sorting out wills, deeds and power of attorney. Awful bleeping broadcasters, so bland. I cannot relate to either of those people AT ALL and I am a similar age (and education level).

It's down to the producer to hit the dump button. Methinks there's not much sympathy for Tories amongst the staff at LBC and they were lapping up a chance to criticise Lee Anderson. I hope he makes them issue a public apology on air, preferably at 10am

 Do you really think that about the staff? I suppose a producer has to share the same values as the person they 'produce'. I hadn't really thought about it. Although my gut instinct would be that they are a pretty neutral bunch given the precarious nature of the industry. Hmmmm ... if anything I reckon you'd get a better / more interesting show if the producer has different views to the host. I couldn't imagine working with certain ego-maniacs though if I didn't agree with them ... hell.

I listened to abbot the other day. He was bemoaning that nothing worked in the UK because the quality of mobile phones for calls is pretty bad.

You would assume it was a joke, but with his mentality and bemoaning how terrible the UK is (for many things that are pretty much the same in scandi countries) he could be very serious.

Just a bitter ranting old unworldly man at this point. I think he may have only gone abroad once (to eat microwave meals in Madrid) in the last 7 years because he's too scared of realising the UK isn't that bad.

I turned him off this weekend because he was just a ranting, grumpy old man.

Stick with the Nick and Carol podcasts he's like a different person on there.

I don't listen to him, but maybe he's had enough of LBC and wants to be sacked.

I usually find him funny as I regard him as being more satirical. What I think triggered him this weekend was he went to Parliament for PMQ's this week and it really wound him up. He likes Sir Keir after his visit but his vitriol for 'Titchy Suitsize' was off the scale. He wasn't a fan of Lindsay Hoyle either.

I too find him funny sometimes but when he gets on his Brexit/Boris/Rishi/Tory/climate bashing he becomes very tedious and I too switch him off.

I am surprised he revealed he went to Parliament as I had visions of lots of his fans scouring the TV coverage to see if they could spot him. I kind of get the impression he does not want to be seen in public.

Thinking about it also, I don't think he has taken any weekends off for absolutely ages as I cannot remember switching on the radio on a Friday or Saturday night and it has not been Nick Abbot.
