There's been rumours about Brand for years. He regularly gets mentioned in the celeb gossip threads here. Dom Joly has been heavily hinting about Brand for the last couple of months and it was widely accepted that Katherine Ryan was talking about Brand when she was talking about 'predators appearing on panel shows.'
Brand has gone complete conspiracy theorist now though and is already declaring that 'they' are trying to shut him down.

What he did with Andrew Sachs over his grand-daughter was really unpleasant and I never found it funny. I am sure some of the "mob" who did are now in a rush to attack Russel Brand. Hopefully we can do better than a lynch mob and the police will thoroughly investigate these and and other allegations of this kind.
As Ndrangheta says the entertainment business looks to be quite a cess-pit.

Global's lawyers must have warned presenters not to discuss Russell Brand. It must be frustrating for them to have such a juicy scandal on all the front pages and not be allowed to give an opinion. Although it doesn't seem to have stopped other media outlets featuring it.
I have very mixed feelings about it. I've never liked RB. I never found his foul-mouthed, misogynistic act funny but didn't realise quite how disgusting it was until seeing the clips at the beginning of Dispatches. How on earth did the various TV channels let him get away with it for all those years? On the other hand, why has it suddenly become news? Are the multi-national, multi-billionaire organisations which he accuses of profiteering from Covid trying to make sure he's well and truly cancelled?

Brand was right when he said the tv execs let him get away with stuff because he was making money for them. That shouldn't be an excuse in any way whatsoever though. It would be like suggesting supermarkets enable people who buy knives from the kitchenware section to stab people.
He's been on the radar of the press for at least 10 years. Frankly I don't care the reason why the unified world government and Bill Gates (or whatever the 'establishment' is called today) are going for him now. If it means one more sexual predator off the streets it's good news as far as I am concerned.
